I brought my vehicle to Alta Mere to have a Clear Bra; paint protection, put on my car. I spoke with Mike Morrell and set up an appointment to have the clear bra put on as well as my windows tinted. When I brought the vehicle in I spoke with Lewis South; the clear bra installer, and he stated he would need all day to do the job. I showed him the kit I brought to be put on and all the areas it would cover.

I was unable to pick up the car that evening so my wife went to pick up my keys and pay for the services. I picked up the car after Alta Mere closed and took the vehicle home. After inspecting the car in my garage I noticed a large section on the front bumper where the clear bra was not attached to the car, there are sections where the corners do not match up, the hood sections is short of the end of the hood by a few centimeters, and there are black finger prints on the under side of the clear bra.

My wife took the vehicle back the next morning and spoke with Mike Morrell, who stated the installation was bad and the clear bra did look "like s**t". After a few conversations back and forth with Mike Morrell I asked to speak with the owner, Charles Elliot.

After approx 2 weeks of phone calls, Charles is only willing to refund my installation charges and not the price of the clear bra I provided. According to Alta Mere they do not provide a kit for my vehicle. Charles later told me they do not "warranty" products brought in from outside, but it is not an issue with my product.

The issue is the horrible and incorrect installation of my product. I was never told either time I was in Alta Mere that if they messed up my product I would be responsible for it. If that had been the case I would not have had them do the installation.

I've asked Charles Elliot to refund my installation charges as well as $500.00; which Charles stated is the wholesale price he can get the kit for. He stated he is only willing to refund my installation charge, but nothing for the clear bra. He went on to say they would like the opportunity to redo the clear bra if I would buy another one; for 500 dollars of course.

Mr Charles Elliot; owner of Alta Mere continues to deny the truth

The owner of Alta Mere, Charles Elliot, stated in his rebuttal that I never brought the vehicle to show him the poor workmanship. This is untrue. The vehicle was returned to Altal Mere the morning after the work was done. Mr Elliott was not at the store location at that time. One of his employees; Mike, came out and looked at the clear bra on the vehicle. His stated it looked terrible and continued to say something would be done to fix it. He stated the store was recently sold to Mr. Elliot so he wasn't sure what he would do to remedie the situation. He could not get in contact with Mr Elliot while the car was at the store. It took several days before we received a call from him and he never asked to bring the car back so he could look at it. Mr Elliot continues to assume this is not an installation problem but a product problem. As I stated before, there are dirty fingerprints underneath the clear bra, the edges do not match up, sections were cut that should not have been, and a large section was not adhered to the vehicle. I picked up the vehicle after dark when the store was closed. The vehicle was returned to his shop as soon as they opened the next day. For some reason Mr Elliot continues to assume the problem was anything other than a problem with installation. The video I took of the vehicle as well as multiple pictures tell a different story!

Mr. Thompson Is An Unreasonalble Customer

#5REBUTTAL Owner of company

Mon, September 08, 2008

Mr. Thompson came into Alta Mere to have our company apply his Clear Bra product on his car. After nearly a complete day of installing the product, our technician, Louis South, who has been employed with us for several years, inspected the work and had applied the product correctly. The vehicle's owner, Mr. Thompson, sent his wife to pick up the keys to his vehicle. I am certain when Mr. Thompson came to pick up his vehicle later that day that he inspected our work because he drove his vehicle home. All of our customers inspect their vehicles before leaving. I am also certain that if he had noticed anything not applied correctly, that he would have immediately noticed this when he picked up the vehicle, not after he arrived home in his garage. We pride ourselves on our customer service and have offered more than we really should have to him. We offered to order him, at his expense, another Clear Bra at cost. He refused to accept our offer. We have our own products that we sell at Alta Mere and never warranty someone elses product. No company in this business does. For all we know, this product could have been an old product. Mr. Thompson has never come into my store to show me the vehicle...therefore, he may have made the whole thing up. I tried repeatedly to be reasonable with Mr. Thompson, but I don't feel I should reimburse him for labor and just hand him over $500 for a product that was not ours to begin with; especially since I have never seen the so-called damaged clear bra.
