American Advantage Khrystal, SCAM, LIARS, unsafe, cash only??? i thought this was a legit business?? I was wrong! affton, Missouri
I was so excited to be conisered for a management position, even though I've had zero management experience. The first interview only took five minutes and I didn't get to ask any questions. Khrystle didn't even explain what type of company they were, except that they were a "wholesale perfume distributor." That basically means they were a pyramid scheme and were responsible for those creepy people in parking lots trying to sell you cheap perfume. Not safe or legit!?
I went home to look up their business online and couldn't find anything!? How could a business not provide any information online? I even put in their address and it couldn't pull up anything!? They said they'd pay cash for training that would last 60-90 days. Isn't that illegal? My father tried looking into them too. All he found were articles screaming SCAM And LIARS! There were no business cards in the building. Not even a sign on the outside of the building. They make all their employees sign a slander clause as well. Why would a business that distributes perfume worry about slander?
As I sat in there for those brief minutes, the person in the next room had hip-hop blaring and were throwing around a nerf football. Khrystle apologized for the noise and laughed off that this environment is very fun and attitudes are most important. I wasn't looking to work at chuck.e cheeze. I was looking forward to working in a professional office setting. The small office building was very shabby and dirty. Paint chips all over the carpet, half painted walls, trash littered desks, and like I said, no business cards or anything representing their business. VERY sketchy.
After I left the 5 minute interview at 5:00, I was told to call back at 6:30. When I called back I had a list of questions about their company and procedures. Sabrina answered the phone and all I said was, "Hi it's ------." Immediately she was very enthusiastic and said that I seemed like a great fit to their office. How could they know that???? I didn't say more than 2 words at the interview and the application I filled out was extremely brief. I said thank you, but I have some questions. Sabrina/Khyrstle, whichever bonehead I talked to wouldn't even give me room to talk! I was in the middle of asking questions and all she did was talk over me!
I said, okay- so u pay cash for training? How is that okay? And she said, well it works for me... I tried to ask a couple more questions and even try to get out of them what the website was, and she got very defensive and said, "well maybe if you would have come in for the next interview you would know what the hell you're talking about." And hung up! Why so defensive???? Im just trying to look out for myself and see if their business was REAL or not!! Obviously not. I don't want other people to go in and get scammed like they tried to do to me. They put their employees on the streets and door-to-door, extremely unsafe in the city of st. louis. Im barely 100lbs and very paranoid of people. What if my job was to send another girl like me out into the streets?? Someone needs to stop these people because all they do is use you to get ahead and it's NOT right. It's just not right. *karma*

Do not feel bad you are just one of many, many people who feel taken by this organization. They operate under dozens of different names in offices similar to the one you visited. Anytime a company is incredibly defensive about their business it should be considered a big red flag. You are also correct in it isn't really safe to be conducting an all-cash business alone in parking lots.
