Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

I was solicited by American Express to get a Gold Card in July of this year.  If I applied then I would get 75,00 reward points if I spent $5,000 over three months.  So I followed the agreement and spent over the $5,000 in the proscribed time period.  I checked my account in December to see my rewards point status and I only had points attributable to my spending.  So I called customer service and the opened an inquiry.  I revceived this email after their investigation.

"The offer referenced in your correspondence regarding a bonus of 75,000 Membership Rewards points required you to provide the RSVP code when applying for your Card to be eligible for this promotion.  Regrettebly the RSVP code was not provided at the time of the application; therefore, wyou are not eligible for the offer to revceive 75,000 points."too good to pass up

I did the application process over the phone and had NO IDEA about any RSVP code.  What a scam.  I ran into a problem with American Express about 10 years ago in a billing dispute and vowed never to use them again but this offer was too good to pass.  So I did it but it was deceptive and a scam.  I was never overtly notified about any RSVP code so I am cancelling this account and any American Express business for ever!
