Dateline NBC gave a slight glimpse of my story in their episode: The Perfect Catch.  Convicted con-artist Tim Blair aka Tim Dog -90's Sony rapper- recently using in Dominican Republic alias Tim Williams (who was also reported on Ripoff Report prior to his being convicted) used American Express as one of his vehicles to rob his prey. He would seek out his victims using online social networking of various sorts, befriend them, introduce a business scheme/scam and then convince his targeted victim to apply for and put him on the credit card in order for him to conduct business for "their" business. Unaware he had ruined other account holders doing this same thing, the mark would naively carry out this business venture.

I was victimized and set up in August of 2007 with AMEX used as a vehicle to carry the crime out, by this predator.  November of 2007, when I couldnt pay the enormous amount of money back on schedule,  that this predator had rapidly spent (which should have been another red flag), a collection rep on behalf of AMEX told me Tim Blair had had fictitious companies in California and was "probably doing the same thing" now in Atlanta, GA.  I asked them if they knew this and had access to this information, why did they allow me to do a business deal with him? She quickly made it clear that I was the primary card holder and that I would be held accountable to repay. It was a threat she had made.

A couple years later, while I fought tirelessly to obtain the support of law enforcement, I became ill from the stress and appealed to AMEX to work a compromise on the monies Blair had spent,  so that we could settle.  They flatly refused me.  I still am angry because I know that they often negotiate with people who did their own overspending and yet they knew Tim Blair did the spending -  they separate the charging on their statements and show who and where the spending was done - but they would not negotiate with me - leaving me to continue working two jobs as a single mother.

After the predator was convicted, I was encouraged by the ADA to write AMEX and ask them to at least refund the fees and interest I had paid being that it had been proven a crime had been committed by this criminal using their card as his vehicle.  They flatly refused. I emailed the CEO, they called me back and flatly refused.  Even told me coldly that they could not tell me that they would NOT give Mr. Blair "Authorized User" status again and again.  WOW.  I will tell you that even at the court house when I was called in by the ADA to review the AMEX statements prior to the plea bargain, ANOTHER victim's statements were mixed in with my statements obtained by the subpoena.  I have now made contact with her as well during my investigation.

The ADA was puzzled that AMEX would willingly profit from a crime - which is illegal to our knowledge.  Apparently, they do not have to abide by the rules and laws as do the rest of us Americans?  Like who can afford to fight them, right?  Again I ask the question.. would you or I be allowed to do what AMEX did and not be held accountable as an accomplice or negligent? Willful Blindness? I'm just asking... Aside from legalities, wouldnt the RIGHT and HUMANE thing be to refund at the very least the interest and fees after having court documentation, my testimony,  as to what I had been through???

In the course of my own investigation, I have located victims worldwide.  They have told their own painful stories of how they have suffered and struggled to repay the funds, AMEX even placing liens against a victim who was/is disabled even.  Like Tim Blair, they did not discriminate as to going after the money.

I am writing a book that will be out later this year, which will tell the story and display the evidence of Timothy Blair aka Tim Dog and how he was an enabled and empowered as an "Authorized User" for over 15 years, on many levels to financially rape many single mothers and ultimately children as a result.

Like hurricane Katrina, long after he is gone, WE have all been left to clean up the debris and broken people he left behind in his path.  Isn't prevention worth the pain and suffering it will have spared?
