I am in need of help; I was involved in a car accident on approximately October 21st. 2014 I was insured by American Freedom Insurance Company located 559 West Golf Road Arlington Heights IL 60005 (847) 758-9300 with full coverage insurance. My insurance was current and in force Policy # 12-20545101-00 with the Bound time being 7-9-2014 12:01am Effective dates 7-9-14 to 1-9-2015. My Claim # is IL-218489 I rear-ended the person in front of me and they in turn hit the person in front of them.
Right after the accident the police had the car towed to their local place. I called my Mom (Tammy Walsh who I also give you permission to speak to if needed) had it towed to a place she uses called Collision Solutions 101 W Belvidere Rd, Round Lake, IL 60073 phone: (((redacted))) Conta

My Claim # is IL-218489 I rear-ended the person in front of me and they in turn hit the person in front of them.
Right after the accident the police had the car towed to their local place. They began to prepare the Estimate that is when my insurance Company American Freedom called and said that they needed the car to be at one of “Their repair facilities, that I could not choose where it was to be repaired. Therefore, it was at that time they came to Collisions Solutions and picked up my 2013 Chevy Malibu Vin# 1G11C5SA1DF240832. About two weeks after they picked up my car they denied the claim stating since I carried my tools (meaning my work belt with hand tools) They were not going to cover the claim stating that in this case I needed “Commercial Insurance” to work as a Laborer.
When I obtained my insurance I went to an Insurance agent, his name is Edward E. Patton DBA Lake County Ins Agency, located at 505 Orchards Ct Round Lake IL 60073 847-548-7570. I have used Ed since I had my first policy. When I got the car I had before this one, I updated my insurance information with Ed to where I work now, which is Krol Construction Inc located at 301 Pathway Drive in Lake Villa IL 60046-6477. The only reason I went to an agent VS picking an insurance company on my own is I thought they would make sure I was with the right type of company; I thought that was their job.
Now I am left with a huge loan, no car a denied claim for no good reason, as well as the other two people’s insurance contacting me regarding the repair of their cars.
We have tried over the last almost 6 months to talk to the insurance company no one will return my calls or my mothers. I did everything right I went to an agent to make sure I was covered for what I needed I paid my insurance premiums as required. Now I face financial destruction. I am 23 years old and I have no idea what to do. This is now affecting my ability to meet my job requirements of getting to and from job sites. Can someone please help me? Or at least advise me on what to do?
How is it legal for an insurance company to steal a car and deny the claim to top it off? In addition, to this also deny the people that were hit. How can these insurance companies get away with this type of behavior? You pay to have insurance so in the event there is an accident you are covered; I am just at a loss as to what to do now.
