First off let me start off by saying yes my camper was volentarily repossesed. We decided that keeping a roof over our kids heads was more important than the camper luxury. The manager did her best to accommidate us and help us to keep it just could do it financially.
Now to my complaint, which I expect to be resolved asap, before I take further action, with the BBB and small claims.
The branch manager Debbie at the Ormond beach office, has flat out lied to both David and I. In Novermber David told her we could not keep the camper and we would turn it in to her, however David was not in Florida to do so at the time, he said he would be there within a week and get it taken care of, however he could not afford to make the trip.
Around mid December I spoke with Debbie the branch manager at the ormaond beach office, she aske dthe location of the camper so that she could have it picked up, at that time I told her that I wanted to wait to tell her where it was until we hade to oppotunity to remove all of our personal items from the camper. She claimed to report the camper stolen, if we did not tell her, knowing dam well all we wanted to do was get our stuff out of it.
At that time she told me we would have to 10 days to pick up our stuff, I told her that Davis would not be in Florida for about 3 weeks to pick up the stuff. In order for me to tell her were the camper was (do her job for her and repo man) she gave me her word that my personal property would be removed and she would hold on to it in the office until Dave arrived in early Jan. I told her I was not concerned about the dishes, food, stuff of no value.
However I told her I wanted everything that was worth something, such as TV, DVD, trailer hitch, chairs, etc. I did not give her a complete list because I did not know every last item in the the camper. She promised to get my stuff and keep it at the office if I told her where the camper was.
After telling her where the camper was I gave her the phone number of the owner of the property were it was located, and specifically stated that arrangement will have to be made prior to setting foot on the property of another, she agreed. My parents were never called.
In early January I spoke with Debbie again about the keys, I told her that Dave would be there in a couple of days and would bring the keys by, at that time she told me that nobody had entered the camper, and none of my stuff had been removed. She told me that once Dave arrived she would go to the lot with Dave and allow him to remove all of our property from the camper.
Dave arrived in Florida late Friday the 5th of Jan, he went to AM. Gen on Monday with the keys, Debbie told him she did not have time to go get the property at that time and she would get everything and bring it back to the office, he told her it was a lot of stuff. He named off a few items, again we did not keep inventory of exactly everything we had in the camper.
Finally after 2 weeks she called to let him know she had his stuff, he went down about a week later to find all that was there was a tv dvd and trailer hitch. Dave was infored that all of our personal items were sold with the camper. BULL**. why woudl she go in the storage compartments and take out 1 thing and leave the rest. IT DOES NTO MAKE SENSE TO ME.
She was told onmore than 1 occasion we wanted everything with a value. missing items that I can think of that need to be replaced are 2 camping chairs, a camping hammock ( not cheap that you tie to a tree, but a specialty camping one) a tent, DVD CD's, towels, dishes, silverware, cups, 2 handmade afagans made by my Grandmother, misc camping gear such as campfire cooking tools, tolietries, a bottle of prescription medication worth $600 called aciflex, stealing mediaction is a FELONY.
I don't understand why all this stuff was overlooked, and a TV and dvd player were taken out. Regardless of any repo my personal proeprty is my right to get, however again Debbie gave her word my stuff would be protected, she claimed nobody went in to the camper as of Jan 2. UNBELIEVABLE
