This is the detailed event as it happened with all dates...
Dec. 26, 2013 | First Visit (Eye & Contact Exam) |
I left the office with a trial pair of contacts which was the original | |
strength because they didn’t have the prescription in stock the Doctor said | |
I needed. Said they would order and notify me when in. | |
Jan. 06, 2014 | I received a call that the contacts were in. |
Jan. 07, 2014 | I received a call that the glasses were in. |
Jan. 08, 2014 | I called the store ahead to make sure both contacts and glasses |
were in. I picked them up on the same day. | |
Jan. 10, 2014 | I called and complained that contacts were not right, the left eye was blurry |
they said they would talk to the Doctor and call me back. They called me | |
back and said the Doctor had another strength for me to try and pick up. | |
Jan. 12, 2014 | Went by Sunday, they were closed. |
Jan. 13, 2014 | Went back on Monday and the Doctor came out and said they didn’t |
have the correct strength but to try these +5.5 for both eyes "Soft Meds". | |
I did not try the contacts right away because I was trying my new | |
eyeglasses 2 days while I was off work. | |
Jan. 16, 2014 | I tried the contracts +5.5 for both eyes and they were horrible, I could |
not keep them in my eyes, kept popping out and blurred vision. | |
Jan. 22, 2014 | I called to get my prescription so I could go somewhere else to |
buy contacts with the original prescription +6.0 left eye and +5.5 | |
right eye, and they said to come get it. When I got there, they said | |
they could not give me because I never had a follow up with the | |
Doctor since my first visit. I was never told that was the policy. Why | |
didn’t they tell me this since I had made so many calls and visits | |
sinced December 26, 2013. They scheduled me for next day to | |
see the Doctor. | |
Jan. 23, 2013 | Came in to see the Doctor but when I got there I never talked to the |
doctor but instead they just gave me one contact +6.0 for my left | |
eye and said they would order new trial lenses +5.75 for my left | |
eye and +5.5 for my right eye in two different brands and was told to | |
wait for them it could take up to 10 days. | |
Jan.23, 2014 | I filed a complaint to their corporate office online on the same day |
(January 23rd) and the corporate office called me back on the 27th. | |
I explained all the above ordeal and they said they would check into | |
it and call me back in 24 hours. It took 5 days for a call back. | |
Jan. 28, 2014 | Corporate Office called me back letting me know they would be |
in that day and the local office would call as soon as they received | |
the shipment to let me know they were in. A few hours later, I received | |
a robocall that the lenses were in. | |
I went in that afternoon to pick up +5.75 for my left eye and +5.5 | |
for my right eye. Through all this ordeal I never complained about my right | |
eye, it was always about my left eye. To my surprise both brands were | |
both +5.75 for left and right eyes as marked. I questioned what they had | |
done and they went back and talked to the Doctor and came back | |
out and said all 4 lenses from two different manufacturers were all | |
for my left eye even though the contacts were clearly marked as | |
L and R. I became upset with all their lies and shoddy practices and | |
questioned their negligence and business practice. The lady I | |
was dealing with at that time made some calls to find a match for | |
my right eye +5.5 because I refused to mix and match different | |
brands in each eye. She found one at Target Optical and I had to | |
go pick it up. She tried to justify mixing and matching different | |
brands as being common. I have worn contacts for 30 years and | |
never had to mix and match different brands. | |
ALL OF THIS TIME, THE DOCTOR NEVER OFFERED TO | |
RE-EXAMINE MY EYES AGAIN. | |
I WANT A FULL REFUND FOR THE EXAM AND THE EYEGLASSES SINCE THEY | |
ARE NOT USABLE WITH THE WRONG PRESCRIPTION THEY MADE THEM TO. | |
