Americredit Americredit Online Payment Ripoff Arlington, Texas
I knew when I purchased a preowned vehicle I would be paying a high finance rate due to my poor credit scores. Americredit approved my loan and I was informed that after making my first payment by mail, I would be able to make future payments online. Making online payments enables me to manage my budget better. I registered and created an account after my check had cleared my account and went online to make my second payment six (6) days before the due date. When I went online I discovered that whether you are using your checking account or your debit card you MUST pay a $5.00 "convience fee" to Western Union that I know Americredit is splitting with Western Union. That is one heck of a convience! I was not told about this fee by the customer service rep (I use this term very loosely) when I first inquired about online payments. Where is the full disclosure for the customer??? If I had known about this fee upfront, I would have mailed my payment. If this is how Americredit operates, I will be sure to mail all future payments. Tell the customer about ALL fees upfront and allow them to have a choice. The online payment fees are one big ripoff!

The $5 charge BY WESTERN UNION is indeed disclosed on the website when you make a payment. You have the option to either go thru with an on-line payment, or not to go with an on-line payment!
The $5 fee is a WESTERN UNION fee and goes to WESTERN UNION just as if you were to go to Walmart and wire money. WESTERN UNION isn't a charity! That's how they make money and how a consumer pays for the service WESTERN UNION offers.
