Beware of Angel Care Home Health Services!

Near the beginning of the year I sought out In-Home Health Services for my father. I went online and the search engine had Angel Care near the top so I called them up to see if they could be a fit for my father. I called and Ruth (office manager/ supervisor) came to our home and met with my father and I. We decided to go with their service. At the beginning everything seemed wonderful. We had a PCA Larry and a few other people trading shifts. After a week or so, Larry and the office secretary Anita were both constanly on a daily basis asking me to write them a recommendation letter. It seemed odd and I was hesistant but I decided to do it because the service was great and it would get them off of my back.

Once the recommendation letter was done the main PCA Larry was starting to get comfortable with not

doing anything but assisting my father to the commode and helping himself to anything he wanted from our home including beer! Larry would start drinking beer that I bought ( for myself and houseguest ) at 7:30 - 8:00 a.m. until 11 - 11:30 a.m. He would stop at that time because he knew that the CNA or Nurse from hospice would be here. I asked him if he was supposed to be drinking and he told me that is was how he started his day. From that point on things were downhill.

Larry constanly argued with me over the care for my father. What kinds of food I should buy for him when I went shopping. Buying him cigarettes. Feeding my father. There are so many arguements that it would take to much time to explain everything. I ask Ruth ( Larry's so called boss ) to come to the house so that we could discuss these issues but she kept putting me off. When she finally showed up she would pull Larry in to our garage and talk to him and then leave. There was never time to discuss the issues that I had with Larry.

I was very stressed out over the situation with Larry and Angel Care. Larry somehow knew that I was

going to find another agency and threatened me that if I reported what was going on that the state would come to our home and remove my father and place him in a group home facility. He also stated that he would tell my father how much money that there services (Angel Care) where costing him. I was very intimidated by Larry. From him making sexual advances to him threatening to call the state to put my father in a group home. I felt like I had no one to talk to besides my sister in Idaho.

We've never needed In-Home service before. Angel Care used the fact that the state said I needed someone in the home with us to help me take care of my father. That was because I was burnt out after almost a year of doing this alone. I say Angel Care because I found out before I fired them that Larry Heater ( yes the washed up football player ) and Anita Heater (aka the secretary) are the owners of Angel Care Home Health Services, Trinity Home Health,  and Heater, Collins Inc.

From the three months of service I received from these people. They've set me up with what I believe is a scam VA company that was suppose help my father get his aid and attendance money for the REAL Va. In almost four and a half months they never filed paper work with the VA and said that my father was denied. I left money at the office for my father's needs when I was going to be gone for a few days but I never received the money back. After firing them I looked in my father's wallet to see if the money I told Larry was for an emergency was there and it wasn't. My father, Larry and I were the only people who knew where the wallet was and i didn't take it.

You may think whyt would a ex football player and owner of a company need to take almost a couple hundred dollars. Well it goes like this Larry and Anita purchased a home in Henderson some years back for almost $750000. Yes I said $750000. Now guess what that house is worth. Let's put it this way if I took a lost of almost $600000 I would feel sick. But I wouldn't STEAL from a dying man.

Larry in the three months that you were in our home you prayed with my father and I. You ate are food (without my permission and agains't your company's policies). You slandered my name to numerous people even my own family. You lied. You stole. You tried to turn people agains't me and you didn't succeed.

God sent real angel's to help my father and I through this difficult process. I never knew that we had as much support as we have now. Angel Care you give PCA's and  In-Home Health Care workers a bad name. I felt certain things out because this case is under investigation but if this helps one family avoid the trappings of Angel Care In-Home Health Services then this report serves it's purpose.

To the Department that regulates Home Health Agencies in your state.  If Medicare was paying them report them to the Medicare Department but make sure you have the proper documents or it is a he said/she said situation.  Good luck.
