ANIMAL TRUSTEES OF AUSTIN I WAS NOT TOLD THAT THEIR LOW-INCOME WELLNESS CLINIC WOULD NOT SEE PREGNANT DOGS AUSTIN, Texas
When you see their website, you see how full of COMPASSION and CONCERN they are for people who can not afford veterinary care for their pets, their dogs and cats.
At the Operation Standdown which is supposed to be a social service outreach to homeless veterans and other poor residents in this community, I was told that Austin Animal Trustees would help people who could not afford Veterinary care for their pets.
I had just acquired a beautiful little girl Chihuahua from a Mexican family who left because of the economic downturn. They told me she had been spayed. I guess they were mis-informed.
She turned out to be PREGNANT!
Austin Animal Trustees is supposed to have had a Wellness Clinic for dogs and cats.
THERE WAS NOTHING THERE ON THEIR WBESITE THAT SUGGESTED THAT THEY WOULD NOT AT LEAST EXAMINE PREGNANT DOGS.
I DO NOT HAVE A LOT OF MONEY AND COULD NOT AFFORD A VET BILL FOR THIS. IF YOU TAKE THEM TO THE TOWN LAKE ANIMAL SHELTER, THEY WILL BE EUTHANIZED. IN FACT, THEY KILL HALF OF THE ANIMALS THAT ARE BROUGHT IN THERE.
I WAS REFUSED FOR THEM TO EVEN LOOK AT HER.
I CONTACTED A CHIHUAHUA RESCUE GROUP BUT THEY ARE FULL UP. PEOPLE ARE ABANDONING THEIR PETS IN RECORD NUMBERS HERE.
THERE WERE UNEXPECTED COMPLICATIONS AND TWO OF THE PUPPIES WERE BORN DEAD.
A DAY OR TWO LATER SHE DIED LEAVING ONE BEAUTIFUL PUPPY.
I HAD THE SATISFACTION OF CALLING THE ANIMAL TRUSTEES OF AUSTIN AND THANKING THEM FOR REFUSING TO SEE HER. I WOULD HAVE FOUND THE MONEY TO PAY THE VET IF I HAD THOUGHT SHE WAS GOING TO HAVE COMPLICATIONS. I DID NOT KNOW AND I PAID FOR IT AND MY DOG PAID FOR IT TOO.
SHE WAS ALL I HAD IN THIS WORLD AND NOW SHE IS GONE.
DO NOT BE A LOW INCOME PERSON AND TAKE YOUR DOG THERE AND THINK THEY WILL HELP.
