Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
Anthony Altemara, with numerous DBA's, was in the business of providing software development services by finding clients, outsourcing the labor to third parties, and then marking up each project and adding padding to the invoices.  then, he got paid, dissolved his LLC's, and refused to pay any subcontractors.  he was served papers and formal lawsuits by both sides of teh equation, his clients, and his subcontractors.  This man, anthony altemara, is a complete fraud with absolutely zero morale character.  it's hard to even imagine how someone can look themself in the mirror knowing they have intentionally robbed multiple parties of hard earned and much deserved monies.  The clarifying point to this claim is that anthony was paid by his clients, meaning there was never any dispute over the quality, craftsmanship, or level of completion of the work he derived from his subcontractors.

this isn't a petty claim for hundreds of dollars, this is in mid to upper five figures, i.e. tens of thousands of dollars he has stolen and pocketed, all while hiding behind an LLC.

if you are a business, run far far away from this jerk, if you are a business/employer, do not make the mistake of hiring him.  (i'm talking to you IBM in RTP!).

Lies from a subcontractor that broke our non-compete agreement, and stole our client

#2REBUTTAL Owner of company

Thu, October 03, 2013

Here's the situation from our point of view:

1. Subcontractor is brought on to aid in extending a project that has been going on for a few years, with all the work produced by me.

2. Over time, as we develop our working relationship, I allow the subcontractor to speak with the client, for purposes of enhancing workflow. At this time, subcontractor signs non-compete agreement with my company, so they won't steal the client, and I won't steal the subcontractors employees.

3. Then, before I am even paid for the work that my company has done, subcontractor breaks the non-compete agreement, and moves all the clients sites  off of my leased servers to subcontractor controlled servers, in order to steal the client, and remove any sort of leverage I have in getting paid by the client.

4. With no income from our largest client, and facing astronomical lawyer fees in just trying to recover damages from subcontractor and payment from client, we are forced to lay off our full-time employees. So, we could not stay in business, and had to close.

5. After threatening to sue the client, months later, they finally pay a portion of the invoices due. Meanwhile, the subcontractor, is enjoying the relationship with the client that we developed (profitting handsomely), and using the code that we created for years before they even became involved, is suing us for full-payment. The audacity of this after they broke our mutual non-compete agreement!!!

I have no problem at all treating people well, and paying contractors who are honest, and stick to the agreements that we make. But a contractor that intentially takes your clients and drives you out of business is not someone who deserves to be paid, at least 100%.

Some of the lies are  specifically addressed below:

Lie #1 ... with numerous DBA's, ... (This is an intential lie, trying to characterize my company as hiding behind numours names. Truth: We had exactly 1 DBA, which was put in place at the same time the company was incorporated.)

Lie #2 ... was in the business of providing software development services by finding clients, outsourcing the labor to third parties, and then marking up each project and adding padding to the invoices.  (Our main business model was providing IT services directly from in-house staff. It was only large projects that we sought 3rd party assistance, and paid market rate for those services. Anyone who doesn't understand that the prime on a contract gets more than the sub doesn't understand business.)

Lie #3 ... then, he got paid, dissolved his LLC's (This is another intential lie. When the subcontractor broke the non-compete agreement, and stole our #1 customer, while at the same time we were having hire lawyers to try to get any compensation at all, we went out of business. It wasn't until after we were closed down for months did we finally get a portion of the money owed to us from the client.)

Lie #4 ... , and refused to pay any subcontractors. (Most of our contractors were paid. Just the ones that broke our agreements and drove us out of business were not paid, until we could resolve the amount of $$ they were entitled.)

Lie #5 ... This man, anthony altemara, is a complete fraud with absolutely zero morale character. (I can supply any number of business and personal references to easily refute this. Please, feel free to request, as I know they will be happy to endorse me.)

Lie #6 ... anthony was paid by his clients,  (I was paid by the client after threatening to sue them and shut their site down. Even then, I was only paid a percentage of the actual billed amount)
