We called Anytime Garage Door Service, LLC because of the sticker on the inside of the door. We are the original owners of the house and figured they installed the doors and thought perhaps there might be a warranty. We found out since that companies usually pay to have their sticker on the door. It doesn't mean they installed the product.
The sales tech basically said the spring broke, which was obvious, and that we needed to replace both sides so they would, from what I gathered, work together optimally and/or equally to prevent the motor from burning out. He gave us three levels. Knowing we needed to get the opener fixed, not knowing what it typically costs and not being ones to haggle over price, we decided to take the middle option of two hundred something per spring. Of course, once you add the install price it was almost $800! He must've been so pleased we didn't haggle over the price because he said he would call his boss to see if we could get the 15 yr warranty, typically only sold with the highest level option, for the middle option price, which he did. It took him about 40 minutes to replace the springs and 2 hours after the tech left, the garage door stopped half way down and wouldn't budge. We had to manually close it. The motor just hummed.
We had a nagging feeling something wasn't right because this guy had absolutely no sense of urgency. He must've spent about 2 hours just talking to us both and kept sending all his calls to voicemail. Though very nice, something just wasn't right. We called several other garage door companies once the door got stuck. They all quoted a price of $299. or less for total install of the same exact product with a lifetime warranty! We have since found out this company will replace springs, then the garage door will fail only to come back and say you need a new motor. There are 36 filed complaints with the BBB, numerous negative reports on Yelp and on Ripoff Report.
When we confronted Anytime Garge Door Services, LLC with this information, the sent a different tech to the house. He said he is the one who just handles the problems and said to vent all we want. After we told him we just wanted their product removed from our house with a full refund, he went to his car for a few minutes, came back and said, "My boss told me to leave." That was it. We just paid almost triple the cost of other comanies and our garage door still doesn't work.
Do yourself a favor, if this sticker is inside your garage door, remove it! Don't use this company! We called Channel 8 On Your Side to file a complaint, posted this story all over FB asking our friends to share and I will tell everybody who will listen what a ripoff this company is.
