Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

Worst Rescue experience I've ever had to dealt with. Was approved a month prior to visiting a 6 week old puppy and was very excited to meet this fella. So we drove from Orange County to Apple Valley where this shelter is located and we got to meet the little guy. I was so excited I'd be taking him home but unfortunately that night I got a call from Heidi, apparently she is on the Board of Directors for this rescue and she mention to me that I would not be allowed to adopt him because I have a son under 5 and that husky are not very kid friendly dogs! I was shocked and even more so after telling her I was going to consult a dog trainer, so it wouldn't be a worry' but she was adamant that they would not adopt us this dog. I was beyond angry. I drove over 200 miles to visit this puppy to be denied after being approved. It makes you think if they even read the application when you apply because I clearly stated four year old boy. On top of that I wanted to visit the bigger dogs and was shocked to find them all kenneled up in a cages about 3ft x 4ft wide in a section to the right of there house, boarded by white vinyl fencing. The fencing must have been 20ft width and 25ft in length. Why such a big area to have these grown dogs ranging from 6 months to 2 years confined in such small cages, I was amazed. Also upon walking in, I looked at several of the dogs bowls and they were empty, some lacking water. Laura who volunteers at the rescue took notice that I saw and grabbed a hose and was like, hey let's fill these up.. I didn't pay her any attention because I wanted to do some more observing so I went off and began to touch the dogs. There was about 9 dogs and they were very excited to see me as if no one pays them any attention. I took my time to try and spend time with all of them and got to visit with four of them until I came upon a fifth. I began to touch her like the other dogs but immediately released as I felt a big rough patch of skin on the side of her head. It wasn't immediately noticeable but I wasn't expecting it and the dog ran out of the kennel. This irritated Laura and she no longer allowed me to finish up the visit with the other dogs. We got him back in the kennel and I asked, " Is that mange?" She responded, " no it's not its fly bites." So I immediately put it together, the four dogs prior that I visited had matted fur and were a bit dirty, I assume that these dogs aren't showered unless an appointment is made to visit them in hopes of adoption. Fly bites on a dog aren't normal, I've owned a total of 8, my dogs have never experienced anything like the pain that dog must be suffering. Well before I left I mentioned I feel bad for those dogs stuck in those cages all day in the heat. Laura and Heidi responded with, "oh it ok don't feel bad, they have misters that spray them down." Heads up' I didn't see any misters or maybe I wasn't looking hard enough!

I adopted my dogs from ARA and live in the high desert so I'm very familiar with ARA and how they operate. I have seen the kennels on quite a few occasions and they are superb, top notch, with misters. I have had to kennel my dogs at various facilities throughout the years and kennels at board and care are much smaller than those at ARA. I'd prefer the ones at ARA but that's not what they do. The people who operate this rescue have devoted their lives to rescuing dogs. This is a rescue, there will be dogs who are healing from wounds or other ailments inflicted by irresponsible humans. They post these injuries on their FB site for us to see as dogs enter. I have had husky's for many years and they absolutely tip their water bowls over frequently so I'm certain that is what was seen.

These are rambunctious lovable doggies who rip up bedding, walls, dog houses u name it. They will tip their water bowls over daily. What I have learned about ARA and other reputable dog rescues, they will refuse to send these dogs to homes that are not in the best interest of the dog at hand. I have a superb situation and I wasn't sure I was going to get my dog from ARA until the final moments. I do follow them on FB and have learned they, along with other rescues I have adopted my dogs from throughout the years, have great wisdom and discernment when considering a home for adoption. This is what I love about them. Rescue is difficult and stressful and they don't make money, they do it bc they are passionate about these animals. If this wasn't the rescue for a particular individual then try another, but ARA does phenomenal work. Thank woo.

SUCH LIES!!!!

this guy is a huge liar and i guarantee you if he wasnt allowed to adopt a puppy, there was a GREAT reason. if you fill out an application online, you can be approved but you also have to meet the animal and make sure its a match. OBVIOUSLY something happened at that point. i have personally adopted 3 dogs from this woman and her rescue and she is AMAZING!! it is a HUGE 10 acre ranch with gorgeous white vinyl fencing all around it and HUGE 10 by 7 kennels. the dogs are only kept in the kennels when visitors or adopters are there, other than that i have seen them all rin free in her huge backyard. she also has a facebook page that shows over 5000 people who love and support her, so this idiot who has made up all these lies for probably being denied a dog for very good reason, needs to delete this garbage full of lies.

there are misters there that were on the day i was there in july adopting a husky. if they werent on, there was a reason. how dare people who are mad they didnt get approved for a dog, think they can just make up stories and tell lies!!!! you should be ashamed of yourself!!! what kind of grown adult WITH KIDS behaves this way??? there are so many people that love this woman and her work, it is impossible the conditions he describes are true in any way. she takes in MANY medical dogs that have been confiscated from abusive owners, which other rescues wont, so im guessing that was one of the dogs you saw. and im sure her volunteer didnt tell you that about flies either!!

i have 3 small kids and she has never had an issue with adopting to me, so again, you have to have done something to make these people not adopt to you!! her website shows exactly how many a year she adopts out so you are such a liar!. she welcomes anyone to come to the rescue and see her dogs at any time so why would she do that if the conditions you are speaking of exsist?? THEY DONT!!! her place is GORGEOUS and she lives there on the premises also. it sucks because nowadays any person with a keyboard can write all these lies and if you dont pay $2000 to remove them, there they sit! this is slander!! because its lies!!! give her a call, ask to come see the dogs to maybe adopt one, and she will allow anyone to come see them. if she doesnt feel you are a good owner, or a good fit for any reason, YOU DONT GET A DOG!!!

she also has a mobie groomer that was there the day i was adopting my last husky, so i know she bathes these dogs often.

i know for a fact those kennels are cleaned twice daily and water is given multiple times a day because the dogs like to play in it and knock them over. so terrible to lie like this because you didnt get a dog. check her facebook page, and her website. she is a very well loved rescue and thousands recommend her!!!
