We had a similar experience as others who have been ripped off by Mark Winter and Art Experts. We sent them photos of our painting. They said it looked to be genuine, but they needed more photos and $600. We sent them the money and additional photos. They then agreed that they would provide the authentication for another $2,000. We sent them the money. Mark Winter then produced a "report" that had our pictures, the history of the artist and a cursory review that concluded that it appeared to be an original. When we contacted Mark Winter and inquired about all the scientific methods not having been used, he said they needed to be done to be sure and that it would cost more. When we complained to him, all in writing, that they had told us they could provide the authentication from The photos we supplied, he became hostile and accused us of trying to scam him! At that point, we knew our only recourse was to sue and did not think we would have much luck chasing a guy in NY., so we letit go. Unfortunately, I did not find these complaints beforehand or we would not have used them. Stay away!
