Beware of the Ask Sunday impostor. They are imitating the real company Ask Sunday LLC, in order to rip off innocent people out there searching for work. I received a job offer through career builder for a Personal Assistant position. The job offered $31,200 annually along with 401K, medical benefits, etc... All this to work as a Personal Assistant part time. I thought, well this could be a great opportunity, but it sounds a little fishy.
The first thing that tipped me off was the person who sent me the second e-mail (first e-mail was through Career Builder) used a yahoo e-mail address.
[email protected]. He claimed to be an HR manager for Ask Sunday. From my experience any company that has there own website is going to use an e-mail address through there own domain name. It should be something like
[email protected]. The second thing that tipped me off was that he asked for a copy of my license. Well, i guess that might be normal under some circumstances, but it just didn't seem right. The third thing, He stated that during the trial period, which is a two week period in which you are suppose to be paid $1250, whether they decide to hire you or not. Well that's kind of strange, their offering me this much money even if I am absolutely terribly at the job, with absolutely no interview. Fourth, he states that during the trial period money is to be deposited into your bank or credit card account in order for you to make purchases for the customers.
So then I began to do some research. Well, it turns out the website they are directing their "potential employees" to is an impostor of the real company AskSunday LLC. They have virtually duplicated the original website which is "AskSunday.com," making small changes to the logo and set up, adding a 'hire' section to the page. The imposter site is "AskSundayllc.com." The man responsible seems to be going by multiple aliases the name he gave me was Thomas Moore. I asked him why he was using a yahoo.com e-mail instead of a Asksundayllc.com e-mail, so he responded with an e-mail listed under the name Peter Moore as
[email protected], which showed up in my spam folder. I've read a few blogs (there isn't much about this scam out there yet) from people stating they were scammed by a guy named Brian Moore, or from the website "Makesunday.com." makesunday.com is now shut down.
If you get a job offer like this DELETE IT! It is sickining that there are so many scammers out there taking advantage of people who are looking for employment. Most of these people are obviously struggling if they are looking for work , so stealing from them has got to be the most dispicable act.
