Astro Auto's, Owner: John Neves He does NOT have any titles for his cars. Lumberton Texas
I purchased a car from Astro Auto's in Lumberton, Texas a few months ago, paid the car off in FULL and all i needed to pay was the TTL. A couple weeks later, i went in and paid that off as well. The owner, John was in and told me i would have my title, registration and plates in no longer than TWO WEEKS. two weeks pass and i call, a rude lady answers and says that it takes up to TWO MONTHS for them all to come in.
After hearing this I call the courthouse to check if they have submitted anything, and of course, they haven't. Weeks later i continue to call and they have an excuse that they had to send the title off for the previous owner to sign and return (i also wasn't aware this would take two months by itself to do) Why they didn't have the title signed and ready to go is beyond me, unless of course they do not have the title to begin with. As my paper license plates are about to expire, all they tell me is that I am not their only customer and that they will get me new paper license plates. For a business that is shutting down any minute, I doubt they have a lineup of customers they need to attend to. And as for them re opening in a new location, i suggest no one purchase ANYTHING from this man. He is a liar and has no titles for his cars, makes you pay for the TTL, even at a discounted rate, knowing he is never intending to get your title, registration, etc to you.
As a customer who paid for their vehicle in full, and had the payments paid off well in advance, they are in no way entitled to say that this is anyones fault but their own for not attending to their own business in a timely and professional manner. My advice to you, if you still decide to deal with this place, have a lawyer ready.
