Atlantic Auto Mall Poor service, Overall bad attitude ripoff West Islip New York
I am a 19 year old kid. I went to the Atlantic auto mall to buy a car. I liked the Hyundai Tiburon so I took out a 30,000 dollar loan. I had the car for 7 months and the motor blew. I waited two and a half hours for Hyundai to get a tow truck to me. Then when the dealership got the car they just put it in there yard and wouldn't even look at it for three days because I didn't make an appointment. Then they looked at it and told me the motor was blown and that it would be ready in 4 days.
So in 4 days I went back and they told me the motor was in but not with all the correct parts and then they told me it would be another three days because they had to order the rest of the parts from California. I needed a car to get to work so after a day and a half of arguing with them they gave me a loner car since I purchased the 2,000 dollar warranty.
So on the 3rd day which was Wednesday I went there 2 or 3 times to see how it was going and every time they said it would be finished by 4:00 so I went at 4 and they said it still wasn't done. So I was upset. It was 5 days past due so I went to the show room floor to find the finance people and then some guy walked up to me. It was the General Manager of the building which I didn't know at the time. He asked me if the keys in my hand where the loaner car keys and I said no they are for another car. He said to give him the loner car right now and I said it's at my house. Then he said if I didn't give him the loner car at that instant he would call in stolen and I said it will be at my house and when my car was done I would bring it back and leave it.
So he called it in stolen then he walked up to me and was pushing on me with his stomach and said get off his premises. So I went out side and called the cops. After that the sails manager came out and was talking to me nicely I told him I had called the cops and was going to make a report. The guy advised me not to make a report because the general manager would say that I was getting loud and that everyone else would agree.
Needless to say, when I finally got my car back it was not in good working order. There was a horrible oil leak coming from underneath. I brought the car back to the dealer. When I presented them with this little tidbit of information, I was told to leave and take my car somewhere else. Ultimately, after significant arguing, they took the car in for service again. Again I had to wait for them to look at the car.
After three more days I received the car. Before I took possession I checked to see if it was leaking oil. I noticed it was still leaking and told the service manager. He told me it was just excess runoff and that I needed to give it time to burn off. It is still leaking oil. I'm convinced they never even touch my car the second time around.
