To begin, Vacation Network, Inc does not "lure" by "offering free trip/cruise". If people would pay attention to the telemarketing call, they are offered a promotional gift for attending a presentation, and are told point blank they do not have to purchase anything, peroid. No purchase necessary. Once they are in the sales office, they are given a confirmation letter to read, front and back, directing them that all taxes are the responsibility of the participant. Also, every prospective client is told at the beginning of the meeting that they are not required to purchase anything, and at the end of the presentation, they can get up and walk out. Our contract states that we provide accomodations with resort condominiums, suites or villas for 8 days/ 7 nights, one bedroom(two bedroom on request). Our reservation department works with vendors who offer inventory to them, through this process we are able to obtain accomodations in bulk, and therefore pass savings onto our clients. There is no "fine print" in our contract. It is all in the same font, and states clearly about the Annual Service Charge and that it may be increased each year. Every client initials right next to this paragraph, indicating they read and understood it. It also states that failure to pay the ASC does result in the loss of privileges. The contract also states "should clients not use the accommodations allotted by this Agreement during the term of this Agreement due to no act or default by VNI, VNI is not abligated to provide Client(s) with a refund or grant additional accomodations". To Vacation Network, Inc's knowledge, this person has not even tried to utilize the program, just signed a contract and began complaining. Vacation Network, Inc.'s Round Rock office was closed at our discretion, nothing to do with what was going on with the Attorney General's office. If this person needed to contact Vacation Network, Inc., they have our corporate office number in big bold letters on the front cover the Vacation Planner Booklet.
