I had typed a very detailed experience with Austin Stone and his company, but it was too long and too much detail. Let me say he is the most mild mannered, impressive con artist you will meet and can lie with an angel face. He did work for my neighbor and solicited work from me. I ended up approving three different estimates over a period of 4 days.
On Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2012 he told me he was finished except for hauling off the remaining load of limbs. The load was on my tractor trailer & my F350 truck, which I let him use. He also had three of my saws, and one saw he was still using that belonged to my neighbor. He also talked my neighbor into using his tractor trailer, which he had not hauled off the load from his job, two days later.
It was mid day and I had to leave, so I paid him the remaining $200 of the $1000 job, which included $120 bonus. I also wrote a check (interest free loan) to a saw company for $400 on a $1000 Stihl 660 saw that he said he needed badly that had been stolen from him. I called the dealer, which I know, and told them I was writing a check to partially pay for the $1000 saw that Austin needed. I made it out to the company.
I left the house and Austin left right after I did. He did not return the next day, which I allowed may be he was using the bigger saw on another job. When he did not show up the following day, I called his business phone and left a message to tell me why he had not been back. That afternoon, I called an left another message, to call me by evening or I would call the sheriff. Friday I called the sheriff and I found out that I had been conned/scammed by one of the smoothest operators I have ever engaged and I was in business 43 years. The sheriff's department had him and his helpers in the system along with their pictures. Your first question, how could this happen? Your would have to meet this con artist. Second question, why is he still on the streets?
The story of the stolen saw is a part of his scam as well as the struggle to keep his business going. The real story is he is on drugs along with the people working with him. He pawned my neighbors saw and three of mine. He still has the key to my truck and 5 gallons of diesel. Friday evening, he called. " His son and grandmother had been in a car accident in Daytona and he was there. His son was in ICU" . He would be returning my saws and keys the next day, Saturday". We knew where he was and he was not in Daytona and he did not return anything.
I had bought back two of my saw, in terrible condition, for $150. My neighbor paid $60 to get his back. I saw a list of 12 mostly chain saws that he had pawned at one of the two pawn shops by Austin. He tried to buy a cheaper saw and get the difference in cash from my check. To the dealers credit, they told him they would credit my account for the difference. So he bought a $400 saw billed to me and sold it to an individual in the pawn shops parking lot. I doubt I will see that one again.
Bottom Line! This man needs to be off the street. I have done my part. If you have a complaint, call on get in touch with the Putnam County Sheriff's department. Ask for Detective Jared Guy. Case # R-7912. He has all the information and any more you can give him will help take Austin down. I think it is a shame that a person with his talent and ability has lost his soul to drugs. No telling how many people have suffered from his actions. I have a soft heart for people that need help and something like this toughens your heart and that is sad. This is not my first bad experience, but I have been around a long time. To me his worst crime is telling lies. I can not suffer a liar.

Albert Burkes... Seriously you would give a stranger $4650 without knowing any information other than their name & cell number?? I can't believe you would be that stupid... I googled your name and the only information about you is this BOGUS report.
Your RIPOFF report is filled with a lot of lies.. There is no warrant out for Austin.. His insurance is legit because I pay his insurance bill. He carries 2 million in coverage..
You posting his rap sheet is public record but anyone can see he hasn't been in trouble in years and has completely turned his life around. He is a hard honest worker. Who left a disgruntle employer hhmmmm.. Sort of ironic he leaves that crooked company and these reports & reviews start popping up online?
There are plenty of satisfied customers that will back Austin including a few of ROGERS WALDMAN old customers errr wait I mean Albert Burkes... Mr Burkes when you post comments reviews etc you should keep all your information straight your other comments on other sites you have some of the money amounts different... Please keep your lies straight..
What amazes me even more is that this website doesn't do any research on what is being posted... This whole report is bolonga.. Albert posted Austin's phone number where in the privacy act of this website it says you can't post phone number but please everyone call Austin he will answer your questions he will tell you about his past...
