You are right, file a claim against their bond but good luck. I was in the process of doing that when we hauled a car for them and they never paid, but their bond gets hit so many times that their bonding company is just as rude as they are. My husband threatened to create a black ball listing on-line and put his name at the top of the list if he didn't pay us. He did the next day. Also, the bonding company will probably give you a run around about how you signed their contract, etc. Also another problem with getting money from companies who's bond is always being hit is that it runs out. They are only required to have a $10,000 bond. (Carrier's are NOT required to have a bond only brokers are; we were a carrier.) What happens when your claim exceeds that limit? You are just SOL, that's what. Greg should be in prison. I know of one other broker who was running the same scam out of Northern California and that's just where he went. I bet Greg's turn will be soon since I found on-line one of his local news stations has already done a little story on the scam he has going. I bet it's not long before it's picked up nationally or some local governmental agency will step up and shut him down to avoid public scrutiny. I agree that you should also complain to the DOT as well as FMCSA. The following information was obtained from their web site and is public record: Trust Fund: (They have this because their Bond was cancelled in June of 2005) 1st Security Financial Corp. Attn: G. Brice Parks, President 3929 Noe Bixby Road Columbus, OH 43232 Phone #: 614-834-8141 $10,000 Trust Fund active as of 6/22/05 Auto Trail Transporters is only their DBA name their official name is V & C Warehouse & Distribution, Inc. Their US DOT Number is 834780 Their MC Number is MC252857 You will need all of this information to complain to any governmental agencies. I really hope this helps you or any other unsuspecting person Greg may take advantage of next (including honest hard working truck drivers).

Brian, here's an easy solution Whether this business is a carrier or just a broker means nothing. Any broker or carrier providing transportation of frieght is licensed [DOT#/MC#] and is BONDED. You just need to file a claim against this jerks bond. Go to www fmcsa com and do a search for this "carrier". You can also file a complaint with the FMCSA and with the state they operate out of. Filing on the bond is quick and easy. I used to be an independent carrier and have dealt with many unethical "brokers" posing as carriers. That truck with the trailer you mentioned was some hot shot driver getting a backhaul. That explains the delay. They had to find someone to move it cheap enough. It is hard to move LTL freight out of NY. Good luck!

Autotrail basically never has your car, thats why they get away with everything to smoothly, they broker out carriers to pick upo your vehicle so basically you can never have them in fault, autotrail will actually try and help you and try to pull u on their side when its actually their fault for anything happening to your car because of who they gave it to! They will never find anyone to ship your car, they place your ad on a website and wait for carriers to call them for the *load*. The only time they ever really ry to find someone to pick up your car is if your a Regular Customer, Otherwise forget it! Also, When you cann to trace it, all the employees do is ask Greg! And he tells them what to say. They arent even Computerized, Your order is thrown into a pile.. Dont use them again!
