B OF A is the last bank in the world I would ever consider banking with!
* B of A refused to cash their own check, forcing my disabled daughter to PAY them money in order to cash their own check, a check written by her atty who is a B of A acct. holder, as a penalty for her not having a B of A acct.
* B of A sent me a "refund" check in the mail. Skeptical that it may be a "Nigerian scam" check (knowing I do not bank with B of A, and NEVER WILL!) I brought the check into my local B of A branch. As it turned out, it was an allegedly valid refund check from one of my credit cards (through B of A.) They asked for my SS# and D.L. Due to the fact my D.L. had expired 3 wks. ago, they refused to cash it. I presented my official temporary DMV interim drivers license, and they still refused to cash their own $20 check!
B of A engages in unfair business practices!

I agree this bank is horrible. I get chills down my spine just thinking about them. But this report is not entirely fair.
Most banks do charge a fee if you cash a check and are not an account holder..regardless if the check is issued from an account holder of that bank.
If you don't like this...just deposit the check into YOUR bank account, and it should clear in one business day..fixed.
Now they issued you a check..obviously it was not a Nigerian scam. They require a valid drivers license to cash it. you do not have a valid drivers license but some interim license. So they refused to cash it. Once again..just deposit it into your bank and it will clear in one business day.
I see no act of discrimination or unfairness unless you can provide proof this bank only uses these policies against a certain "group". I am willing to bet every poor sap that deals with this POS bank is subject to the same crappy service. Either way...you were not ripped off as far as this report shows..but inconvenienced by policies that do not discriminate per say..but equally inconvenience everyone and anyone under the same circumstances. Make sense?
