I totally believe you. Did you know that not all ATM's are serviced by the bank to which it is connected?
For example I bank at a branch of Chase and the ATM that is located in the lobby of the freestanding branch is serviced directly by Chase. HOWEVER, the driveup ATM that is outside in the branch parking lot, labeled "Chase" is not. Seems weird to me, but they don't mark their ATM's with any sort of sign indicating which ATM is serviced by a third party.
You are less likely to get any positive resolution from any ATM serviced by a third party. There is no incentive for the third party servicing the ATM to correct its mistake. There is no incentive for BOA to correct its mistake. In fact, there is an incentive to make errors because the $100 obviously went somewhere other than to your account. If the branch was open, why not take the extra five minutes and go through the drive through tellers to make your deposits. IMO its too risky to deposit cash - even with the 'photo' ATM's. Why give someone an extra $100 for that five minutes you saved on the initial deposit?
