Mr. Chris Jackson had me design approximately 6 websites (((ROR REDACTED LINKS FOR SECURITY PURPOSES)))Some names were still in process of name creation.
We originally agreed on our first website for a custom design (all custom artwork). The agreement stated that payment be made in full before any site goes live and before any Watermark is removed.
He then asked me to design the other sites. I explained to him verbally that those are not part of the $500, but would be extra, and payment be made in full before any site goes live and before any Watermark is removed. He said that was fine.
He then asked me to design him a business card and post card for vegassuperpages.com. I explained to him verbally that those are not part of the $500, but would be extra. He said that was fine.
He sent me small payments over the time of designing (not even close to 40%). Come the end of the work when the site is done, I totaled all my work, and sent him the bill.
6 websites (((ROR REDACTED LINKS FOR SECURITY PURPOSES)))an Admin CD (with source code and overnight CD), Admin Access (consisting of creating admin accounts for all websites and databases as well as overnight all user names and passwords), a logo which was for VegasSuperPages.com, a Post Card (Double-Sided) (Includes Image Verification with selected printing company)(4.125"x6.125", 600 dpi, CMYK), a Business Card (Double-Sided) (Includes Image Verification with selected printing company)(2.125"x3.625", 600 dpi, CMYK), An advertisement for MyWonderCleaner, and a PayPal link creation and automatic billing (for all websites to automatically bill using PayPal).
He then refused payment because we only agreed on the first website . I then explained that I would only do the work per the original agreement nothing more.
He then attempted to change the original agreement. He threatened to sue me for deceptive practices if I didn't agree to do it his way. He never paid me, but had someone else duplicate my artwork.
The total time was approximately two months working on this almost every day ranging from at least 4 hours to 10 hours or more. He expected me to call him 2-3 times a day, and he wanted to see all work. Every phone call ranged from about 1 hour to 2 or more hours. Every phone call was long distance. Phone calls were made at around 11:00am, 2:00pm, 8:00pm,(CST) and anywhere in between.
There were some times when he would call me at 10:30 or 11 at night to ask how the site is. I asked him not to call after 10pm CST so he doesn't wake up everyone in the house. He apologized, and called a couple times between those hours after I asked him not to. By the second time, I said, "Chris, it's 10:30, I am tired, I asked you not to call this late. I need to get sleep so I can work tomorrow. I will talk to you tomorrow. Good Night." And I hung up. About 10-15 seconds later, he called again.
He made an agreement, then had me do side work. Come time for payment, he runs away. He then attempted to apply for refund with PayPal. The attempted refund I bumped to a dispute, which is still pending.
The transaction technically took place in Chicago (per the original ad posting).
I was not the one being deceptive He was.
