The example you used of buying a car does not make a good anology. In that case you are actually seeing the REAL car, even if it's just pictures it's the physical car that exists. The proof isn't something that there's a physical object yet. The proof is just that, a proof. A digital version of something that doesn't exist yet. The car already exists.

Here is why your rebuttal holds no merit. If the campany doing the printing shows you a proof and says "Here is what the end result will look like"...and the end result is not printed properly and has images or wording cut off - then whose fault is it?
The person who ordered OR the company that said "Hey - here is what you can expect"
Whether you order 1,000 business cards or 10,000 flyers - the job should be printed correctly.
Especially when the company you are buying from shows you a PROOF
If the image or file was uploaded with the wrong sizing, or contained images or wording outside the template then the proof should have shown it.
How hard is that to comprehend?
If you want to buy a car and the dealership sends you pictures and it looks like it's in great shape and tells you it's brand new and so you buy it - but they deliver it all smashed up like it was in a wreck - would you as the buyer accept blame?
I don't think so.

I have been a customer of Bargain Basement Printers for several year and they have produced a quality product every time I order. Their prices on volume quantities are amazing and have saved me $1000s on printing costs.
That's right there is no customer service because their customer base is professionals who do not need their hand held. So if you are looking to print a few business cards go to Staples. If you are printing 10,000 brochures, you are knowledgeable of print design, set up and you want the lowest cost in the internet besides China or India BBP is the right choice.
