I used Beacon Upholstery to re-upholster a swivel, glider rocker that was passed from my mom to me. I did this rather than buy a new chair b/c it's difficult to find an armchair rocker that glides and swivels taking up little actual space in the rocking motion. The chair had previously been covered with a custom slip cover which was a little challenging to take off but custom fitted over the original upholstery. In meeting with the sales rep, I had a very specific conversation about the slip cover noting I wanted it returned and the sales rep (Ken) indicated that it's nearly impossible to find anyone that does that work anymore and acknowledged he'd return it.

After a long time for the service, I finally had a delivery date which was cancelled the day before b/c the customer service person (Shari) didn't write it down properly. She offered me a different date/time during which I was going to be gone. She stated she'd check the schedule and call back. She didn't. I had to call at least 2-3 times indicating I wanted another delivery date set. The one time she called with an option, I didn't get the message until later the next day and called back immediately but the route had already been changed and it was no longer an option for me. I expressed my frustration that I wanted my chair back since it had been nearly a month past my original delivery date. Wanda---a manager and come to learn the VP!!--offered the morning of 12/24 (Christmas Eve Day). I told her that I couldn't do that as it was my daughter's first birthday and we were having a party. She said in a very snotty and sarcastic manner, "What? You can't take 10 mins to take delivery of the chair?" I told her no, then got angry and told her that she could just leave it at my doorstep, I just wanted it back.

I had to call again to get delivery. They were an hour and a half past the window given (8-10) and a half hour past when promised after I called to let them know nobody came. I was frustrated, then learned they'd destroyed my custom slip covers AND my rocker no longer glided. When trying to speak to a mgr about my issues before scheduling another p/u and delivery fiasco, I spoke with Wanda who was so incredibly rude she talked over me repeatedly, was completely sarcastic through out the conversation as well as unprofessional, stating things like "We tried to delivery your chair but you'd always have to do something like burp your baby." and "God help you if you have another one!" I can't even expect resolution from the owner as it would appear Sarcastic Unprofessional Wanda is related. My only option now is to submit to their awful service and try to get the glider repaired (and hopefully returned) or pay someone else to fix their mistake. Some choice!
