Besttoys.org ripoff ..inflated shipping cost
We went to this website to buy some Christmas presents, mainly because it had good prices. The buying process the site uses however doesn't notify you or reveal the cost of shipping. It only has an option for the type of delivery.
Since we had looked at other websites and found the costs of shipping for this particular order were identical at $9.95 for UPS ground, we assumed it would be that amount or similar for that same type of shipment, so we selected it and completed our order.
Only then, after the order had been submitted and the amount deducted from our credit card were we notified about the cost of shipping, a whopping $39.95. We have made attempts to cancel the order, but have found it is not so easy to do.
While we received an immediate confirmation of the order. It has been a couple of hours and we have not received notice of cancellation. The site list a long distance (toll) number to call M-F, which we will do if we have to. This practice is deceptive. Any savings in prices were wiped out by this highly inflated shipping cost.
