Big Apple Bathtub Reglazing After Tub Reglazed, Refused to reinstall plumbing fixtures and shower doors. Internet New York
I am writing because I have a compaint about Big Apple Bath Tub Reglazing, Westchester. On July 26, I hired them to reglaze a tub in a rental property I own. I was told by Eric that they would come and reglaze it, he informed me that it was a two hour process and he gave a two year warrantee. He told me the tub can’t be used for 24 hours and after 24 hours all I needed to do was remove some tape that may be left around the drain and edges of tub. I was instructed to have a certified check to give to his worker once they were finished reglazing, no checks or credit cards accepted. That should have made me realize there is something not right about this company.
The gentleman they sent removed all the tub fixtures and shower doors and left the bathroom in an absolute mess and in complete shambles. The tub faucet now needs to be replaced by a plumber and the shower doors need to be hung by a shower door company. I was never informed by Eric that I was to reinstall plumbing fixtures and shower doors. I was told by Eric that all I had to do after 24 hours was remove tape around the drain and any other tape around the tub. Trust me I would have never hired them if I had known that I was responsible for that. My tenant called me in a panic that night and never realized that the bathroom would have been left in such a complete mess. She regretes that her husband gave him the certified check, he assumed he would be back the next day to put the
bathroom back together again.
The very next day I called Eric to complain and he informed me that he did tell me it was my responsiblility which is a lie. He also told me that he removes the shower doors as a courtesy and knows cleaning woman who install shower doors and that I shouldn’t be complaining. He then informed me that he has the same conversation with all his customers who inquire about tub refinishing. They always tell him to spare him the details because they are running into meetings. I was not running into a meeting and I know what I heard, Eric never informed me that I would be responsible for reinstalling plumbing and shower doors bec if I had, I would have never, ever hired him. My only regret is that I didn’t take off work to be there when he was finished so that I would have seen the mess the bathroom was in. I now have to hire a plumber to reinstall the fixtures in the tub and a shower door company to come and reinstall the shower doors which is an extra expense to me. Don't ever use this company.
