Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

I ordered this clock for my dock dog competitions 5/22/14, when I received this item I tried it out in my office and it worked so I put it back into the box (of course I was standing 2 ft from it). The event I purchased it for was Oct 10, 2014 at which time I pulled the clock out to mount it for the event. During the event the remote with new batteries wouldn't work unless it was 10ft away from it, not the 30-50 ft.

I then had my personal assistant contact the dealer on my behalf to get my money back. She then tried to do so as well as try to get a replacement working remote and a copy of our 1 yr warrantee that was not included with my purchase. He was not helpful at all, the only thing he'd do is offer a credit only if I'd purchase and item $200 more than what I bought and about 5 ft bigger.

I had my personal assistant relay for me on the emails that I did not need a 9" clock that it was too big and that I didn't mind the straight lined remote as long as it worked as it was supposed to. I also included a picture of the remote we received and the one online did not match. She was met with accusations of exaggerating, lying, harassment,  etc from this owner. He was extremely rude, disrespectful, derogatory and unhelpful. His name is Howard Sousa also doing business under DeSousa,LLC. and The Artery Health Institute, LLC.

I did read each email and then I told my Personal Assistant what I wanted to say in the next. She was not here when I pulled it out of the box when I recieved it, so how would she have known I had tested it. The clock was not in question, only the remote. The remote we recieved is not the remote indicated on the site where it was purchased. Not once did you consider a replacement remote. No I do not need a 9" digital clock, the 4" is quite big enough, and no I was not trying to get her to work any kind of angle on the warranty except for a defective remote. You were horrible to her, and I do not know where your get off saying she was belligerent, she never indicated until the last email she send to you that you were anything, yet you accused her of being a liar, an idiot, of harrassment.etc. Not once did she say anything against you until the last email where she called you out after being met with repeated accusations from you that you've been known for false advertising and something is fishy about you doing buisness under 5 different companies. Yes, my personal assistant did get her first couple emails a bit mixed up because she was just trying to relay what I was yelling to her to write, she did not know because I didn't tell her that my son and I had tested it when we received it. So, as far as she knew we hadn't. She didn't know that I did not use it for the event in August and only for the one we just had Oct, 10th. That is why I am doing this now. You were absolutely horrible to her and I think she deserves an apology. I still want a copy of my warranty, preferably before it has expried. I'd like  a replacement remote, this cheap $10 made in China remote for the one I was supposed to recieve according to your web site.

Acutally how about we let everyone else decide who was being belligerent, start from the bottom and work up it's the emails.

You are so clever aren't you? I am blocking you and i am reporting you for harassment. 15 emails is enough. I have 24000 customers in the last two years and you are the worst. You make a mistake and you want someone else to pay for it. You are not a businessperson you are a leech

I am not up to anything, I’m really getting offended with you for the way you have conducted yourself. I was nice, I asked for a manager, you never stated you were the owner, you’ve been ugly, and yes I got rude back. I am trying to work this out for my boss… THIS does not belong to me, I did not pay for it with my own money and I am trying to handle this as he wants it. He is NOT asking for his money back, he just wants what he ordered. It stated that it was within what he needed and yet it does not. It shows another remote on the site and the one we received is not the same, you state it has a 1 year warranty only how you see fit to honor it. At no time have you offered to switch out the remote because it might be defective. Not once have you tried to work with me at all on this….only if we spend another $200 on you when you’ve not given us anything to trust in your products or service. I suppose this is just a fake business just like your other company “Artery Health Institute, LLC” where you were selling crap claiming it would cure people. No, when I ran a search on Bigtimeclocks before this purchase it did not come back with anything, but when you answered my email with your nasty response from your cell phone it gave me your name. I then looked you up and the DeSousa, LLC. On our packing slip which tells a whole other story.

We have a 30 day return guarantee. If you choose not to check the merchandise you purchase then there are consequences. Every customer has a different use for this clock. Some use it for races, some for production some for time studies some just for a clock .You appear now to be clutching at straws trying to find something wrong with clock for your particular purpose. I'm sorry it is not working out for you for that purpose. We have an unenviable customer service record and replace ANYTHING within 30 days. Based on the information you have given we cannot accept a return

The one we bought has a 1 yr warranty on it, please send me the warranty details and contacts please? There wasn’t anything in the box but an operating manual, it clearly states 1 yr warranty.

You need an RF remote to work from any distance and any angle

This is why I said it will not work at angles. You will need the model 180

I have attached a diagram Mr. Johnson just described to me to relay. He said he only needs about 50 feet, they can see it fine. If this is the only one then yes, but if you have one smaller that will do that then that’s what he’d like to do. Could we just get a better remote?

We will give you an allowance against a new clock based on the circumstances you describe. The only clock with an RF remote for 300 feet plus is our #180. I would have not recommended this clock for the uses you describe. These clocks are used in races all the time but the remote is used closely to start them. we do not measure exactly how far the remote would work because it depends on any elevation in the clock which makes aiming that much more difficult. This was not the correct clock for your use and should have been checked and returned within the 30 day period as described

My tone is not outrage, and I certainly wasn’t trying to offend you. I’ve tried to call several times this morning with only voicemail. I am looking at what we ordered… #1 we have a 1 year warranty and #2 it supposed to come with a powerful long distance remote that doesn’t even look like the remote that we received. I am thinking the only problem is that maybe you all sent us the wrong remote. My concern is that you haven’t even concerned yourself with the possibility that something like that might be the problem. I have attached a picture of what we ordered and the remote that we received.

Your tone is outrageous. I am the person to speak to. You buy a clock don't bother to test it then you test it 5 months later and want our company to pay for it. We sell thousands of these clocks without a complaint. I am withdrawing our courtesy discount and please don't email us again. In the future when you purchase something please check it immediately  like most people do .

We are sure 10 feet is an exaggeration. This probably works line of sight at least 25-30 feet. it is an IR remote and like a TV remote

Well we are appealing this. I just spoke to Mr. Johnson and let him know what was said as I was speaking on his behalf, he corrected me. It was only used for this weekend’s event, which now I understand why he’s so upset about it. Please give me a name and contact person to speak with who can make decisions. Mr. Johnson is very upset and he himself wants to speak with someone right now on this issue.

This was bought for Dock Dogs which is a National and Worldwide affiliation. There are 22 sanctioned facilities in my area that have to have these, the Worldwide affiliate goes through at least 15/20 of these a year. I am not asking for anything special, I am saying I bought a time clock with a remote advertised for competitions and we have to be within 10 feet of the timer for the remote to work?? That’s stupid and useless.  I want what I paid for, something that goes farther than 10 foot. If you cannot correct this problem then I will have no choice to contact our other facilities as to how you do business. Now, please just give me what I ordered to correct this or my money back so that I can get what we need. As I said, it’s been used for 2 events with brand new batteries each time and it’s exactly the same… you have to be within 10 feet and you have to reach all the up and hold remote directly straight at it. We purchased this 5/22/14 for our August event, it was taken out of the box and tested in my office. It sat in the box until then, so how would we have known how the thing was going to perform at 40/50 feet? We used it again for the even this past weekend and it was the same, it does us no good.

Hi,

We purchased your Extra Large 4” LED Countdown Clock 5/22/14. We purchased this clock for our Dog Competitions which we have 4-6 of them a year. We have used this for 2 of our events and are finding it un-useful for what we need. We have to stand no more than 10 feet from the clock and then hold the remote up and directly in front of it to get it to work. We needed something with farther range than that and one that can be remote controlled from an angle. Can we please return this for our money back so that we can purchase another that will work better for what we need? Possibly replace the remote on this one so that it will work properly or at least as stated on the website?

Customer is not truthful

#3REBUTTAL Owner of company

Thu, October 16, 2014

Customer did not open box containing clock for 5 months. When it was opened he said the remote did not work more than 10 feet. There is nothing wrong withe clock. We offer a 30 day return guarantee no questions asked which we always honor. Seeing the 30 day period had expired the customer then tried to assert that the clock was defective .It was then conceded by the customer that the customer was trying to operate the clock from an angle. The remote sold with this clock is like a TV remote and must be used straight on. Customer had a belligerant secretary making all kinds of insults call me. I told her i will deal withe boss but not with her. Bigtimeclocks has over 20000 customers in two years with not ONE complaint until now. I offered a $100 credit against the purchase of a new clock with an RF remote which will work at all angles and all distances. This was rejected because the clock was too big. This is a case of someone making a mistake and not opening a product and simply checking it after purchase. I immediately offered the credit. this clock was purchased for $269. i was offereing almost 50% credit. This person William has no idea how beligerant and unprofessional his secretary was. He assumes she was perfectly reasonable. She was not. This could have been worked out if William had not tried to pull a fast one. Now this false report has been filed and escalated matters
