Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

I did my homework and found the reviews that said Bitdefender Anti Virus was rated the best by several well known PC Magazines and Websites, so I thought it must be good right? WRONG!

3 days after I installed it I recieved the UKash virus and it took my computer hostage completely. I wrote to BitDefender support and did not receive an answer so I called, they told me to send them an email and they would send me back instuctions on how to rid my computer of it. Really? I pay you for a service and I first don't get what I paid for and now they want ME to FIX it.

Well they garantee 24 to 48 hour service so I wait and after 48 hours I call again they say "we have put you on priority" well since then I have found this is a Standard response. They would not let me speak to a supervisor or manager.

It has been 4 days and today I recieved the email from them telling me to send them the names of the infected files and they will tell me how to delete it. WHAT? ARE THEY KIDDING ME?

I have now had the virus for longer than the software and still this is what they tell me.

FORGET THIS ANTI VIRUS PROGRAM USE ANYTHING ELSE. please don't waste you money or your time.

I tried the "30 day money back garnatee" forget it, that is a lost cause also. I'm going back to Norton.

How did they rate #1 in the first place? are these rated sites paid by the companies to say they are #1?

UPDATE: I have paid over $250 to have my computer free of this virus and Norton back on. along with the price of the original Bitdefender that I will never see again. Save yourself the over $350 cost and heartache and fustrastion and DON'T BUY THIS SOFTWARE IT'S A RIP OFF

I have the pop up blocker on and I never use the auto update for any of my programs, If something says it has an update I go into the program and do it myself so that theory is blow away. I have also had Norton for years and I'm not big on surfing and had never had this virus before with them. But I know things happen and that is not as big a deal as I WANT WHAT I PAID FOR! so okay I get a virus so FIX IT!  Why am I paying for it if I can just go online and fix any virus myself?

RIP OFF not worth the money for product or service.

Don't worry about me I'm not "whining" anymore now that the product is off my computer.

It seems that you can get an access to the Internet, here is the link from BitDefender about how to remove Ukash -- http://www.bitdefender.com/support/how-to-remove-fbi-ransomware-infection-1081.html

I simply searched online about how to remove the virus...

It seems that you have NO idea about how the virus gets into your computer. There are 2 ways -- by visiting a malicious website and by you. The visiting a malicious site reason may not be the case because all anti-virus softwares will not let any thing being installed without having a concent from the user.

In other words, it will show a pop up or dialog window asking for a confrimation instead. In your case, it is very likely to be you who allow it to be installed. Malwares nowadays are very sophisticated. They can disguise or immitate a warning window as if it is from the system. Many novice users do not and cannot differentiate the warning. As a result, they usually accept it.

So you might have seen a pop up asking you to install a missing plugged-in when you visit a malicious website. You expected it to be a normal operation, but you do NOT know what was going on behind the scene. As a result, your computer is infected. There is NO anti virus software in the world that can protect this kind of action!!! Stop whining about their product. You could, however, still whine about their service.
