After applying for a loan with Bridgewater Advisors online. I was contacted by phone by Jessica Taylor telling me that my loan for $10,000 was approved and she would be sending the documents via e-mail. I was to fill out the loan documents, send them back to them and then send $1000 via Moneygram for the loan.

After doing that, I waited for the loan to be deposited into my account and was told by a Diane that I needed to send an additional $1275 because one of my creditors told them that I was approved for a loan from another company and they wanted the $1275 to insure their loan. I told them that I didn't apply for a loan anywhere else nor was I approved because no other company had contacted me but them. I wired the $1275 on 8/14/2008 and called constantly to make sure that the money would be deposited into my account.

I was first told it would be there by 12:00 midnight on Thursday. When I called Friday morning I wss told by Friday at 12:00 afternoon. When the money still wasn't deposited I called and Diane answered the phone. Coincidentally the man in "Customer Service" named Andrew was no longer answering the phone. Diane informed me that a note was on my account saying that they required 4 months of payments ($895) before depositing the loan.

I stated to her that that wasn't in the contract and how come it's just being told to me now without any written documentation? She said that Andrew should have told me. I told her that I spoke with him 3 times the day before and 3 times that afternoon and he informed me that there were no issues with my account and I would have to check with her as to why the money wasn't deposited.

She still insisted that he should have told me that. I asked to speak with him and she said that he wasn't in today. Now mind you I spoke with him on the phone 3 times that afternoon before speaking with her. When I told her that she then changed her story and said that he left early because of an emergency. For the rest of the day he did not answer the phone. I very impolitely insisted that they refund the $2275 that I sent them.

She said that I would have to wait 10 to 15 days for a refund. I told her that I just sent the money to them yesterday and they were holding onto my $1000 for over a week. She said it states in your contract that refunds take from 10 to 15 business days. That's not in my contract. It only states that a refund will be issued if they canceled the loan because I did not meet qualifications. I demanded that she send me something in writing via e-mail that my money would be refunded within 10 to 15 days.

She stated that it would be in the e-mail by the end of the day. Today is now Thursday and tomorrow would make a week and I haven't received that letter nor my money. I called her on Monday afternoon and she very rudely told me that there were nothing else to discussed and hung up the phone.
