Anita Jacobson owner at California Teacup Pigs and Sierra Nevada Ranch Alpacas in Durham CA also owner of Fashion lounge in Chico CA and Bright Beginnings child care in Penn Valley CA....IS NOT A NICE PERSON. She has been starting rumors about many other breeders to harm their buisnesses. Anita came on the scene as a mini pig breeder less than one year ago. Since that time, she has created drama and chaos for many breeders. It is obvious that Anita Jacobson wants to be the top dog in the mini pig industry. Her way of monopolizing the industry is to throw every other mini pig breeder under the bus, one at a time. Since January 2013, Anita and her partner Erin Locks have been starting rumors and posting false internet reports on many breeders/buisnesses even going by false facebook names. She regularly starts arguments between breeders...telling each of them that the other is to blame and then sitting back and watching only to step in when the pot needs to be stirred. She creates misconceptions to purposefully harm others business reputation to gain market share and to try and make herself look good. Anyone considering buying a piglet from Anita Jacobson at California Teacup Pigs should be aware that Anita is not the breeder of the piglets she sells. Anita buys them from several wholesale operations located in Texas and North Carolina. There is no way Anita can guarantee you anything about the piglet you purchase because she does not know the genealogy, health or sizes of the parent or grandparent pigs. All Anita Jacobson at California Teacup Pigs is doing is reselling piglets she buys sight unseen and also has transported to her across state lines without proper USDA required documents or Identification.... litters of babies packed in small shipping crates.  Passing them on to you as pigs she has knowledge of the care, health or size of. Passing them off as pigs she herself has raised lying to both her customers and other breeders alike. This is her regular buisness practise and we are sure it is not only in dealing with pigs.  Please post your dealings with her we would like to hear how she gose after other cometition.

The rebuttal to the original post is a complete and total LIE and written by Anita Jacobson herself or a close friend or family member, thet simple know too much person info about Anita, that is clear.

IF indeed the person has purchased pigs from Anita "over and over again", as they claim, then there is obviousy something seriously wrong because pigs live 20+ years or they are also bad breeders. The later option is unlikely becasue Anita, like most bad breeders, do not sell their pigs unless they have been spay or neutered becasue they do not want anyone else breeding them and competing with them.

There is simply too much wrong with the rebuttal to even bother going thru every lie, I believe the public can see through the false claims. The half a dozen Rif Off reports that have been filed against Anita Jacobson all appear to be from different people, not the same person they are claiming writes them all. This is a typical lie from Anita and her friends that are also bad breeders, it is just a lousy attempt to minimize the damage they are causing with their lies about mini pigs so they can keep profiting on the backs of these poor pigs!

DO YOUR RESEARCH. Even the BBB has Anita rated a "D" grade becasue she is a bad breeders that lies and hurts pigs!

If you are considering buying a "mini" pig from this breeder or any other pet pig breeder please read this first and research the facts. Fact #1 There is no such breed as a Mini Pig, Micro Pig, Teacup Pig, Nano Pig. There is no breed of pig, no matter how many year the breeder claims they have been researching genetics, that will only grow 30 pounds or less. Fact #2 The ONLY way to get a pig under 100 pounds is to stunt its growth by underfeeding it and risking its health and its very life. Any breeder that says otherwise is lying!

I adopted a pig that was purchased from Anita Jacobson of California Mini Pigs. The owners had to get rid of him because he got larger then the 30 pounds she had promised. This pig arrived underweight, his ribs were showing, his skin was thick and dry. He was unhealthy but luckily the owners did not follow the strict diet set out by the breeder or he may have died, as many have in the past. The breeder, Anita, had given them a strict diet of Mazuir Elderly pig feed and multivitamins. Snacks could consist of 1 raisin or cheerio for training purposes. This amount of food will not allow an infant to grow normally, let alone a piglet that grows much larger, much faster then a human!

Actually, they fed him MORE then she told them too because they thought he was not getting enough to eat, and he wasn't! This "mini pig diet" is typical of BAD breeders who falsely claim their pigs will remain cute, tiny pets. The diet is meant to malnourished the pigs and stunt their growth. Many pigs die from starvation and suffer serious health issues due to these bad breeders feeding instructions. Anita Jacobson & California Mini Pigs diet was to underfeed baby pigs Mazuri Elderly Pig feed and give them lots of vitamin supplements, supplements they do not need if they are properly fed!! The supplements also do not make adequate replacement for the food and nutrients they are lacking in following this insane diet.

The other issue with this and other bad breeders is that they have terrible breeding practices and they just lie and deceive. Potbellied pigs have an average body weight, 3 to 5 times more then what California Mini Pigs and dozens of other bad breeders are claiming their pigs will grow. They are lying! They breed tiny, three month old piglets so not only is the mothers growth potentially stunted from giving birth so young but her piglets will in turn be born smaller then normal. This puts mother and babies at risk. They will then re-breed the mothers over and over 3-4 times a year to get the maximum number of tiny babies that they can sell for outrageous amounts of money claiming they will be under 30 or 20 pounds when full grown, but they won't, if fed properly.

They rarely show photos of the breeding pigs, only day old babies standing by teacups and soda cans, but when they do show the breeders you can clearly tell by their physical characteristics that they are baby pigs, baby pigs being bred way too young. Stunting a pigs growth through malnutrition is horribly wrong and illegal only it is the buyers that get caught and only then do they learn the breeder lied to them. All pigs have a special growth and metabolism that is completely different then most other animals. Piglets should visibly grow and increase in size everyday, that is the way they are built and how their metabolism works.

Yes, you can grow a pig much larger then its breeds average size by over feeding it and then it will get very fat, obesity, which is nearly as cruel as starving them to keep them small. It is the lies and deception of this bad breeder and others like them that causes thousands of pet pigs to be surrendered to shelters, sanctuaries and rescues every year because the breeder LIES about the size the pig will grow. Take a look at Paris Hilton's pet pig she purchased for several thousand dollars from Dandie pigs, it was not suppose to grow larger then 19 pounds but it is at least 200 pounds. If Paris Hilton couldn't buy a miniature pig, you and I certainly aren't going to either.

I am posting a rebuttal again because I have been to this breeders house over and over. I have seen newborn piglets at her house, moms in sow boxes ready to deliver and about 20 or so adult pigs on her property, so I know she is not a wholesaler. I also have talked to her vet and so had the vet that I work for, he speaks very highly of her and sees all her newborns in person, doesn't sound like a wholesaler to me.

I suggest that if you are going to buy a piglet from anyone go to their house and see the parents, she lets you go there by appointment, there are alot of adult pigs there. She is very nice and very professional, her house and property are gorgeous.

I have to add that the person making this report is Percy Sams, but in the heading it refers to Anita as Percy Sams, does this scream scam to anyone else?  They also have horrible grammar and spelling (gose, commetion, buisness) is this a real person?  It's really really bad, this doesn't even look like a valid complaint but it looks like this site accepts anything because obviously his person has not been a customer of Anita's.

We love our 3 pigs from her and hope to get 2 more in the spring, she is sold out right now and that tells you she is doing something right.

This person made a comment about North Carolina, I know that when Anita was buying her original stock for breeding, she purchased a group of piglets from South Carolina with another breeder, she kept 4 of the 6 she purchased and sold one to me and one to someone else, but she told me she bought another litter to diversify her bloodlines and I was totally aware that the piglet was not from her, she didn't need that many related boars, so why not? How do people think big cattle operations and such get new genetics? They purchase groups from other ranches, ship them in, decide what to keep and what to sell! As long as the breeder dicloses such things it's all good, I am in contact with the person who got the 6th piglet and Anita told her that it wasn't hers either, it had a hernia, Anita paid her vet (Dr. Darling) to repair it and then sold it, let me mention that hernia repair isn't cheap so I am sure she took a lose on that piglet but probably saved it's life!

I highly suggest that if you are in California looking for a piglet, go to her place and pick one out! She will spend hours with you, educating and showing you everything. I suggest that everyone see for themselves instead of reading this silly, non accountable reviews by people who have not been to her house.
