I received a fax at work from this company, could save lots of money booking through them instead. I asked what the SCAM was, am I going to have to listen to some timeshare crap for an hr when I arrive, and the gentleman said "No scam, we just want people to come out and look at our resort. We have rooms available and need to get them filled". I went along w/ it, paid $400 to book the rooms at anytime I wanted to. I needed to buy my airfare and then let them know when I was coming out. I booked my airfare for this Oct 09, I called last week and told my agent Tyra when I was coming out and she told me that I could choose between the Sandos Caracol and the Sandos Rivieria, BUT if i chose the nicer hotel, the Riviera, I had to pay an extra $200 for upgrade. WTF! I was NEVER informed I would have to pay more to stay at one of their resorts. THEN I called back on a Saturday to book the Caracol and was told that I had to book thru Tyra and needed to call her Monday. I called Monday, emailed her and no response. I called this company today, they told me I had to pay $50 for ONE WAY ground to my hotel. Fine, understand that. I tell Tyra I want to book the Caracol and gave her my cc info to book the ground. She THEN INFORMS me that when I check in, I need to set up a time for the 60-90 presentation, which from the beginning WAS NOT MENTIONED AND NOT PART OF THE VACATION!! WTF!!!! After I hung up w/ Tyra (who by the way you cannot understand AT ALL!) I called back, asked to speak w/ a manager, got hung up on. I called back 3 TIMES and got hung up on EVERY TIME!! When I finally talked to a manager, KELLY, she was VERY DISRESPECTFUL, RUDE, COMPLETE B@#e@!! When I explained my situation to her, she said that she had no idea why I was griping b/c the time I had wanted to reserve at the Caracol wasn't even availalbe, the only rooms avail were in Nov.! When I said I had already booked my airline, she said "well that's your problem, you should have booked the room before the air and I needed to change my airline reservation". Why in the hell would I do that when I could save money w/ the airline on certain dates?!? She then HUNG UP ON ME!!!! I also will owe $200 a week before our trip for taxes and gratuity. Once again, I was informed from the very first conversation, nothing else would be owed EXCEPT GROUND, I respect that. This company is awful and i have nothing positive to say except if you deal w/ them, I hope you talk to a lady named Ashley, she seems like the only NORMAL HUMAN BEING THERE! The planning of this trip has been nothing but a pain in my #E$# and I have a feeling when we get to Mexico and arrive at the resort, it will only get worse. FML!
