Don't give this creditor your biz. They are the biggest consumer ripp off company who doesn't give a s**t about you. I suggest you settle this or it will only get worse. They will take whatever they can from you as increasing your balance will not stop. They will proceed to lidigation and take you to court. These guys are ruthless! Run as fast and as far as you can from Capital One. Regarding the bail out money the other post mentioned, capital one along with many other banks have paid back. At least this is what I have read. Lastly, try to get someone that speaks well when you call them. Rediculous

I dealt with them, in 2004 when they purchased a old credit card account. There not "Friendly" or "Nice" they was very hateful & abusive toward me even while i was trying to pay them. They was a "Nightmare" to deal with. I'll never deal with them again!.

I believe you should have read over your paperwork better as it clearly states that the deposit required for the secured card can not at any time be applied towards the balance remaining for the card itself. This was stated in the initial letter sent stated that you were approved for the Card. It came with the basic paperwork needed for fees and fines as well as deposit information all in one envelope. Maybe next time you should read your statement better before deciding to leave a balance on a card and canceling your account with Capital One Secured MasterCard.

I'm still waiting to see a rebuttal from any of the Capital One reps out there who seem to like revictimizing people. Why no statements? Why hasn't the company responded to my repeated inquiries? Do you think this is legal? I have joined with the San Francisco law firm handling the class action suit against Capital One, and I've heard from other sources that it should be a winner. How can this happen in America?

The results of the TransUnion investigation are in, and it appears that Capital One is still claiming validity of the debt. As of 8/2002, the balance increased another $15 from the previous month to $972. We still do not get statements detailing what the charges are for (why $15?).
