My son, who just graduated from high school, was home and received a solisitation call from Capitol Vacations. He has no experience and no knowledge of the ways of solicitors and is not on the phone bill. Hoever, he gave his bank account information and when he received information in the mail about cancelling, he called and did so.

However, he didn't mail in the card since it didn't get to my address until the 20th of October, 2003. We've tried to reach a "real person," but have failed. I've tried to email twice, but both emails were returned. I am now mailing the cancellation and requesting they credit my son's account with the $59.95 plus overlimit fee of $20 within 10 days.

I am a legal assistant and work for a very well known attorney in Kansas City, Missouri. I have no problems starting a legal action against companies like this who take advantage of niave kids.

I tried to call the phone number of the President of this company (727-367-7079) but got an answering machine with a woman and a child on it. I'm not sure that's the right number. I guess I'll call it back and leave a message. I am having my son call his bank to stop this transaction and explain the situation to them so at least there won't be any more $59.95 charges.

Life is tuff enough for a teenager without adults doing this to them. No wonder they don't trust adults--I don't either.
