car-smart auto parts Earnie Barber he sold me a defective engine, now wont take responsibility of paying for labor charge to return engine, Internet
i bought a engine from carsmart autopart, he said the engine was in excellent condition, and a good running engine. i ask him did he guarantee the motor to run. he stated the motor had 109,000 miles on it and it didnt smoke, knock or anything. everything tested good.i also stated i needed a complete engine upon purchasing this motor, he stated the motor would be complete, everything besides a starter, alternator, and water pump, i agreed to buying it.
he stated i would receive the engine within 3 days of my geographical location once paying for it. once i payed for it, it took seven or mor days to received the engine. i had to call every other day to check to see had this engine been shipped out, they gave me an excuse each time. once i received the engine the engine looked like crapp! i called back to see y the engine was so oily, and dirty, he stated because it was old and came out of a old truck.
once installing the engine a part was missing off of it that was promised, that cost me addition of 360.00. upon getting everything hooked up the carburetor was so clogged the engine wouldnt run, so my carburetor off of my old engine had to be switch to the engine i purchased, which cost addtional 65.00. once getting the truck started the mechanic notice white smoke coming out of the exhaust, now more test had to be run.
he came to the conclusion, the head gasket needed to be replaced. i called carsmart back and informed them about the situation, he told me to ship engine back and he would try to find a replacement, but didnt want to pay the labor charge for installing or taking the motor back out. so instead of doing all of that, the mechanic said he could fix the head gasket for 718.00 instead of replacing motor. carsmart would agree on labor charge or repairs, so now we are off to court.
