In August of this year, my husband and myself went on a little trip to Carowinds. We are season pass holders and have been for the last 4 years. This rip off note is a warning to anyone going to the park that buys lemonaide from the vendors... particually the vendor near the entrance where the needle is located. On this particular day, I sat on the wall and watched a teenaged worker carry his tray of lemonaide over to a trash can near me. He set his tray of fresh lemonaide on the can and reached into the garbage slot. He came out with 4 used lemonaide cups and lids.... lemons still inside the cups. I watched as he took them over to his stand and hand them to a teenaged girl working it. She filled them up with fresh lemonaide and the boy put them back on his tray.

My husband and I were shocked and disgusted. We have drank this lemonaide on occasion. We reported what we saw to the park management and they gave us 20 coupons for future purchases. They assured us that they would take care of it. We went back to the area and contiuned to watch the boy do it again and were shocked to see the teenaged girl putting some of the money that he brought back into her pocket. The worse part of the whole thing was that we revisited on another day... and the same boy and girl were still working. Agh! DO NOT drink the lemonaide at Carowinds. We never will again.

Theresa, Although the thought of drinking from someone else's cup is disqusting it is more common then you may think. This type of behavior goes on wherever beverages are sold. Since the product is a liquid the way you keep track of the amount sold is by the number of missing cups, this is why a number of establishments will not give you an emply cup because they have to account for it. On the other hand for those workers that are less than honest what they do is reuse the cups and pocket the cash. Sell 100 drinks; reuse 20 only 80 cups need to be accounted for. At a resonable price of say 3.50 this would be a healhly 70.00 "profit". Whoever owns this stand needs to be aware of the fact that these teenagers are skimming the profits.
