Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
This company and its alleged representatives are horrible and disgusting.

On 08/11/08 I received a call from a Steve Matthew threaten me with a criminal lawsuit, a $5,000 judgment and jail time if I didn't comply with paying a $1,095 balance. The case and affidavit against me would be downloaded on 08/12/08 at 11am and I would be served papers at my home or at my job in front of my employer.

Because they knew particulars of me and I knew that I had a possible balance, but not in the thousand dollar range and because of the scared tactics they used, I agreed to pay them $500.

I was asked to fax a letter of apology which I did to 714-710-4103 and they received it. How easy is it to set up a fax line and then disconnect it.

Actually, my loan with CashNet was only for $300 in 2006 and there were times when I did make payments to CashNet500. Because theres still an outstanding balance, additional fees have been added on, but not close to $1,000.

I arranged for Steve Matthew $500 to withdraw from my debit card and this would cease the lawsuit. On Thursday, 08/14/08, Steve contacted me to confirm our arrangement and again on 08/15/08 our arrangement was confirmed at 9am.

Now mind you, this call came from California and it didn't register that they are 3 hours behind EST. The California time would have been 6am (no business would have been opened).

Throughout the morning on 08/15/08, I kept checking my account and the $500 hadn't been debited from my account. Finally I called the contact number that I was given by Steve Matthew (818-530-1886). No one ever answered the phone.

At the end of the many phone rings, explicit sexual gestures were played for about a minute or two and neither was there a voice mail set-up.

I allowed 2 persons to make the call to that California number and both were shocked at what they heard. A red flag definitely started flying.

I contacted my daughter and she confirmed my worst fears, go get your money out of the bank and close it out. I did that.

Monday, 08/18/08, Scott Miller left me a message on my cell phone and my work number. He stated "Ms. _______, your payment was declined. Please call me immediately or you will face the consequences in a court of law and possibly behind bars. If you don't contact me, your case will be re-instated. Good luck. Please call Scott Miller with CashNet at 805-456-1720 immediately."

I called the number back and guess what, I received the same x-rated explicit gestures at the end of the many, many phone rings just like I experienced from the first number. It was the same exact x-rated gestures.

When I got to work on Tuesday, 08/19/08, Scott Miller once again left me the same threatening message using the same (805) number as before and once again the same x-rated gestures are played.

After careful consideration, I believe that Steve Matthew and Scott Miller are the same persons cause their voices sound exactly alike.

I confirmed with the BBB and 411 in California that neither number is listed. Persons set up numbers to impersonate businesses and once they have accomplished their target, these numbers become obsolete.

I have reported this matter to my employer, I have a new cell phone number and work extension number and have instructed not to receive any calls from the 2 persons (Steve Matthew or Scott Miller or from 818 or 805 area codes).

I am reporting this matter to AG office and have reported this scam as well to Utah BBB and have sent a letter to CashNet500 not to contact me at my job.

If this matter is real, than I should have had correspondence sent to me via US mail or fax the alleged documents to me. No, it all had to be served on me by a sheriff at my home or place of employment. You don't call a person on the phone, threaten them with a lawsuit and then ask them, were can we serve papers on you.

To Consumers, stay away from this company and anybody pretending to represent them. Something has to be done to stop this before somebody really gets hurt and I don't mean physical.

If I still have a balance, then lets work it out, but I refuse to under such demeaning and horriffic measures.

Lets put an end to this. A class-action needs to be filed against CashNet500 and all its subsidiary companies.

Payday loans are a rip-off and they target us stuggling emloyees who need the extra cash, but end up in an ongoing loop. No more business with Payday loan companies period!!

Right now, I'm waiting to see what the next step is once I have submitted my comlaint to the Attorney General's office. Any more consumers have similar problems with CashNet? Any suggestions regarding my dilemma?
