Celebrity Crystal And China Sold us a horrible product, used once, and would not allow us to return! Lenexa Kansas
My husband and I purchased a cookware set from Celebrity Crystal and China before we were married (in 2006). The day that we received our cookware, we were eager to try it out and make culinary masterpieces! However, to our dismay, when cooking things other than chicken and vegetables (as shown in the demonstration that we attended) the pans become difficult to clean and had horrible splotches all over them when we finished cleaning them.
We called Celebrity to relay our displeasure with their product. They would not allow us to return their product. They would only allow us to 1) exchange the pans for another product they offer (What 23 year old would spend $1500 in china or crystal???) or 2) receive "service"- which involved a Celebrity representative to come to our home to resolve our problem with our pans. We opted for option #2.
When the sales representative attempted to resolve our problem, he was unable to explain the problem (splotching of pan after EVERY use) and said that our problem would not be resolveable and would try his best to arrange for a refund.
Several phone calls and emails later, Celebrity China refused a refund and would not provide and further service (there isn't really anything you could do about this splotching other than using "Barkeep's Friend"- which according to the sales/service director, should NOT be neccessary.) They continued to ruin our credit for not paying for pans that we absolutely refuse to use or pay for. What a wonderful start to soon-to-be newlyweds!
A representative called us a year later to try to resolve our account, with the same conversations taking place (accept an exchange or service). With no resolution. This company does NOT stand behind their product by offering refunds like a normal company. As a pastry chef, I think I know my way around the kitchen and what constitutes a good pan! Beware of this company!!!

Waterless Greasless Cookware is the good stuff

I was invited to a demonstration from this company. I have been looking for a good set of waterless greaseless cookware ever since I saw a set for the first time at the Western Stock Show in Denver. A close friend of mine went to and graduated from Le Cordon Bleu Culinary institute and she had told me this is the best kind to have. She learned about this kind of cookware (Cordon Bleu used to have a set of this kind of cookware made by Regale Ware) while in culinary school. I liked the idea of cooking without water and grease and I also wanted cookware that will last. So I did some research before I went to this show with Celebrity and this article came up when looking at different companies. I now know own a set of this cookware from Celebrity and it works just like they said. My fianc and I literally use it every day! It cleans up great, it cooks food and you don't have to boil all the flavor out of the food, and I use less gas every time I use it because I do not need all the extra heat. We did have a problem with a knob once but the customer service guy I talked to sent out 3 new knobs right way and was super friendly. I also know that Celebrity has the policy that the lady in this article talked about. After my research with the Better Business Burrow (of which Celebrity is in excellent standing), I found that if a customer is upset with their product they can trade it for something else from the company. Celebrity also has chef quality knifes. I bought the whole set and I love them. I would put them up against any top quality blade. I noticed that she failed to mention that she could have gotten a nice set of knifes. She just said she could have traded for china. Anyway, I just wanted you to know that my experience with this product and company is and has been great!
