I'm sorry, I rechecked experian and it is actually a federal law that requires the credit reporting agencies to give you a credit report yearly. Not state like I had said before. This information is on the very top of the experian website, however they give another address to go to for your annual report. It might be deleted by the editor but the address is annualcreditreport.com. Otherwise just look carefully at the "IMPORTANT INFORMATION" and you will see the address. Also I checked at freecreditreport.com since it has been a while since I signed up with them, and on the very left of the page, under the girl smiling... IMPORTANT INFORMATION: When you order your free report here, you will begin your free trial membership in Triple AdvantageSM Credit Monitoring. If you don't cancel your membership within the 30-day trial period, you will be billed $12.95 for each month that you continue your membership. SO while it isn't the easiest thing to see, it is right there on the front page.

It says you will get a free credit report when you sign up for the monthly membership for credit report monitoring. So you did actually sign up for the membership when you authorized the free credit report. It also says this at the bottom of the screen during commercials (which is hard to read as always) You also had thirty days to cancel. I know this because I myself signed up for this before. However I did cancel before the thirty days was over. Although I have to say I wasn't allowed to access the credit report for a few days and I believe the try to get you to stay on until the thirty days has passed. I agree it is tricky, however if you read the information while signing up you would have seen that you did authorize a 30 day trial in the credit monitoring membership and that you would be billed each month after. Any time you have to give your credit card information you should look for additional memberships you may be signing up for unknowingly. Why else would they ask for your cc info? Check with experian or another credit reporting company. You could get a free credit report every year depending on what state you live in. Of course they try to get you to sign up for a membership after you have gotten your free report. But you don't have to sign up for one, or even a trial when requesting your report if your state law says you can have one free yearly.

Just wait. You'll have more reason to report them because they never send you the e mail notifications ever. I too have reported them to the FTC but have gotten no response after months. This company is sadly incapable of delivering half of what they say thatthey do. I'm still a member because all of the other ones that I've tried suck even worse. Try e mailing customer service and read the totally inept response that you get. The terms do say that you'll be charged after one month. If you don't get what you want then contact your bank and file a revocation or Regulation E form. Go for the revocation first because if you paid using a debitcard the bank will cancel it as a result of the Regulation E but not the revocation.
