Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
This happened back in 2002 but I didn't know there was a site out there that you could write in about bad practices with companies.

I moved to Florida in 2001 and signed up with Cingular for one phone. I did fine with them until I went to a Cingular booth in a mall and inquired about getting a second phone added and to change my plan to free mobile to mobile minutes.

I asked a lot of questions and my main concern was if my husband was in Tampa and I was in Orlando if it would still be free minutes between the phones because he was working in Tampa all week. He responded to us "yes". He said we could be anywhere in central Florida and not be charged.

This was great for us so we signed up for this plan. When I got my first bill it was over $1000.00. I called customer service to get this straightened out. They took some charges off but it only amounted to about $200.00. About 90% of the calls were between the two phones and shouldn't have been charged. I don't know what they were looking at and decided to take the $200.00 off.

I called several times after this because the next month came and I owed over $2000.00. Customer Service said there was nothing they could do for me and I had to go to the corporate office and see what they could do for me.

I went to the main office in Altamonte Springs, FL and told them my story. Here is where I found out that the mobile to mobile was only good if we both stayed in Seminole county. Well the sales associate didn't tell us this. The manager there was apologetic but couldn't do much for us. He said they weren't responsible for the training of their sales team.

I told them I couldn't pay $2000.00 for cell phone charges and that this was ridiculus. I wrote to Cingular and asked and begged for them to take these charges off. No one would contact me or do anything about it. I was disconnected because I couldn't pay and also charged early termination fees on top of it. Also I was reported to the credit bureaus.

So now it is 2004 and I am living with this mess on my credit report and don't know how to get it off. If any one out there knows of a way to get this taken off my report please let me know. Also I suggest to any one out there looking into Cingular to confirm what the sales associate tells you before you make a choice.
