I was diagnosed with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Bipolar Disorder and Insomnia last year in August. I baker-acted myself into Circles of Care hospital in that time of august after having a severe breakdown. I needed help. Since then, I have been prescribed Lamictil, and Trazadone. Lamictal for my Bipolar, and Trazadone for my Insomnia. I do not sleep without them. I never really had an issue with the outpatient services. Until now.

This last March, I had an appointment with my doctor at the first of the month, I went to that appointment.  Towards the end of that month, i recieved a letter from them stating that I had missed an appointment with her and i needed to call. That appointment was never made by me, and it was made without my knowledge. When I called them they verifyed that I did not need that appointment since I had already saw her, and that I do not need to make anymore appointments unless I am not satisfyed with my medication or i need to see my doctor in an emergency.

So this last friday, July 26, 2013. I called in a refill for my prescriptions. I take 4 Lamictals a day. and trazadone at night. I cannot function without them. So on Monday, before I went to work I stopped in to pick them up. The pharmacist there told me that there was an issue and I needed a new prescription written for me, and I needed to go to the front desk to have them write me another one. I couldnt stay for that since there was 6 people in line waiting and I had 10 minutes to get to work.

So I went back on Tuesday morning. Went to the front desk. And the lady told me because I missed my appointment at the end of March they could not write me a new prescription without seeing my doctor. So I made an appointment to see her the following Monday. And told them I am all out of my medication. So they left an emergency message for my doctor asking her if she could prescribe enough to last me until monday. I went home and they called me, saying that she had refused that!!

I asked them what am I supposed to do?? I HAVE to have my medications. These are considered Antipsychotic medications. They told me that I either need to wait to see my doctor on Monday. Which since I've been on this medication for a year, NOTHING will change. Or I need to go to the E.R and possibly be put back in to Circles of Care.   I reached out to my own PCP in desperation, because I have not slept a wink. I am not feeling well without my meds and I am having severe Ups and Downs. These withdrawls are very dangerous and the doctor should not be allowed to think its ok to just stop these medications! And my own PCP knows my history and actually cares about me. She refilled my Trazadone so I can at least sleep at night. But she couldn't refill my Lamictal.

Why couldn't my doctor from Circles of Care. simply give me 5 pills as refills to last me? So I will not have my Lamictal, my antipsychocts for about a week. I believe this is considered malpractice or Negligence. Obviosuly this doctor see's me as a Number and a Paycheck, and does not care for me as a human being and isn't caring about my mental Wellfare. I'm considering getting a lawyer for this.
