I purchased an Antec SP-350 Power Supply online and selected Store Pickup. I went to the store and they processed the transaction and gave me the power supply. It was great only took 10 minutes and I was feeling good about the purchase. This all changed when I tried to download the form for the advertised $40.00 Rebate.

I was only able to find a $20.00 Rebate listed on the rebate forms site. When I called you customer care number ; I was told that they couldn't help me and I needed to call rebates. I called and was told that they couldn't help me and I needed to call 1-----, got nothing but the run around.

I then emailed curcuitcitycom and cc'd the pr-director. I recieved the following form letter:

Dear Scott Rex:

Thank you for writing to www.circuitcity.com

I understand you had disappointing experience while seeking assistance for the rebate associated with your purchase. We seek to ensure all customer concerns are reviewed appropriately. Please accept my apology

for the inconvenience caused.

As one of the nation's leading specialty electronics retailers, we attribute our success to a superior service commitment. Regrettably, like any enterprise, we fall short of our intentions on occasion, and

customer feedback helps us know of shortcomings.

Please be assured as I have forwarded your message about the $40 rebate listed on our web site to our Web Merchandising Department and as soon as we will receive any feedback from them, we will be sure to get back

you.

Please quote the Call ID number provided at the end of this e-mail for any future correspondence.

Thanks again for writing to www.circuitcity.com

I even emailed the President of Circuit City although I can say that he ever received the email since they don't publish their executives email addresses like most other corporations do. I had to guess at his email address.

Here is the content of the WEB Page, I have it saved in HTML format for anyone that wishes to see it.

With rebates so far has not been spectacular but at least so far i have gotten all of them back that i have sent for and sometimes the manufacturers have went out of their way to do it. The one thing i have noticed is that most of the "sales" at CC and other electronics and appliance stores involve rebates as all or as major part of their "SALE".Being that as it may why is it that the rebates are so difficult to collect on(all the hoops you need to jump through)? If the prices in the stores were reasonable in the first place there would be no need for them and to a certain degree they do discriminate against the poorer people because paying the sticker price for an itema and then waiting for the rebates is not an option for a large segment of the population. The last time i was at CC i purchased 2 sd cards and they were with "in store"rebates, last i looked that means S A L E at least in my book. The sales clerc was very helpful and pointed out exactly where they were (behind him behind the counter)but he kept trying to give me the wrong cards.Everything went ok atthe register and that was that, not all clercs are bad and not all customers are bad.

I work for circuit city customer support - corporate office. First of all, an educated customer would make sure the rebate was available prior to making a purchase. Perhaps, you were over excited and forgot to check that out. But if you were so concerned with the mail in rebate, you'd think you'd check it out before jumping on the offer. Second of all, there is a terms of use link located on the bottom right hand of the CC website. It's there for a reason. That reason being that CC employees, those who work on the website, those who work in the stores, and those who work for 1800THECITY, are humans, and sometimes, god forbid, we make mistakes. Circuitcity.com is a huge website with an immense amount of content. The website changes a lot, sometimes even more than once a day. So mistakes happen. If it was advertised at $40 and when you went to print it off, it only showed $20, then you qualify for $20. If you are unhappy with this, CC would have taken the product back and you could have saved yourself the money you put out for the product. The terms of use clearly states that we are not responsible for errors, both on the website and in the store. So, tell me, being human and all, have you ever made a mistake? Circuit City employee's are not robots..and just because we work for Circuit City does not make us perfect.
