Funny, I just visited Circuit City a couple of days ago to purchase a new a/v receiver. The sales staff was very helpful. On the Sony Receiver there was a card that said that if you purchase a receiver over $250 you can get a FREE set of speakers valued at $79.99. I asked about it and the sales associate asked the Dept Manager if the promotion was still valid. The manager said that the promotion was over but since they forgot to remove the card they would honor the promotion (such criminals) I did not need the cheap speakers since I have a nice set already, so the manager said I could get a $80 credit on a single speaker if I wanted. (How dare he offer me another alternative) I choose a trimline Bose center speaker and they shaved off the $80 from the original price. During the completion of the sale, I was asked if I wanted the service plan, I said no, I was not pressured into buying it, They explained the benefits in purchasing it, I wouldnt consider it a hard sell. The sale associate explained that I have up to 30 days to purchase it if I change my mind. So, I guess all Circuit City's are not rip offs and all sales associates are not liars and thieves. I would gladly shop at this store again.

Just like before the sales person will try everything in there power to sell you the Esp or extended service protection. Circuit City is nothing but scammers. I work at Alantic City store#0519. I'll even tell you this they do not treat their employees with respect. Some of us don't even get a break. Not even if we were working for 10-12hour shifts. I can tell you this if a fire inspector came into our building right now without any notice we would have so many fines. If you send your kid into Circuit city and try to buy an r-rated movie they would not be carded. The worst is when you have an issue you can never find a manager. And the district manager is never resolving employee issues. He's sitting in the Cash office eating and joking with other managers. This is so funny how we have clowns that work above us that make money just for doing nothing!!! Must be nice, If I could trade jobs I would have to say Best buy!!!! Even when a manager is late but doesn't call he or she does not get in trouble I find that very funny.

Welcome to the world of big business, all companies practice this, they get rid of you, because someone else is a better brown noser, and cheaper per hour.

I STILL HAVE SEVERAL FRIENDS THAT WORK AT THIS STORE IN TYLER TEXAS. SEVERAL OF THEM HAVE SINCE BEEN FIRED JUST BECASUE OF WHO THEY HUNG OUT WITH AFTER STORE HOURS. MANAGERS HAVE TOLD THEM THEY CANT HANG OUT WITH CERTAIN PEOPLE EVEN WHEN THEY ARE NOT AT WORK. NOW IS THAT RIGHT?? NO HELL NO. THESE EMPLOYEES THAT HAVE BEEN FIRED FOR THIS HAVE TRIED TO CONTACT HUMAN RESOURCES AND FILE A COMPLAINT BUT THEY HAVE NOT EVEN BEEN TALKED TO BY HR. AND THE REASON MANAGERS HAVE TOLD THEM THEY ARE BEING LET GO ARE MORONIC. HOW CAN HUMAN RESOURCES KEEP LETTING THIS HAPPEN?? HOW LONG WILL THEY ALLOW THIS TO GO ON??
