A few years ago Citi Mortgage purchased our mortgage from ABM Amro whom we had never had the first issue with. Our mortgage is a FHA loan therefore we have an escrow account. First Citimortgage Inc, forced insurance on us after we already had insurance in place, which caused our escrow account to become negitive. They also raised the amount to some outrageous amount and claimed property values had gone up. This company never refunded our escrow account after charging us twice for insurance. (mistake was theirs and acknowledge however no refund) of coarse before we noticed this mistake our regular monthly payments were being sent directly to our escrow account, without our knowledge causing us to become 30 days late. THEN the fees begin... Citi Bank actually sends a person out every single month to take a picture of our house and charge us Delinqancy Expenses, on top of late fees and a 10.00 fee to simply pay my mortgage online, because should I dare mail the payment, it could take 10-15 days to credit our account thus more fees. Citibank Mortgage Inc. will not allow you to make a payment on line if you are More than 31 days late, they require both payments at once, therefore you are forced to mail the payment and they seem to decide when to credit it to your account.
