Citi Residential Lending - Bank Of America Stealing my money after payoff and trying to justify what they are doing!!! Carol Stream Illinois
I sold my home and we were closing on the 31st of March 2008. They sent a payoff that included a prepayment charge that had expired. They couldn't send us an updated payoff before closing so we had to go with that payoff. The money was wired to them and they held it and didn't post it until the following Monday. I was nervous so I went ahead and paid the March payment so I wouldn't get a 30 day mark on my credit report. The March payment was already figured into the payoff. They are trying to keep my pre-payment money and my March payment. They are trying to charge me twice for March and late fees. What can I do?
