Citizens Grant Services attempt to Rip off,,,assured a 25,000 check for info confirmation New York New York
Nov 16, 2006 I recieved a phone call from Citizens Grant Services ,, The man itentified himself as Ronald Jones, at Ex 877 at telephone number 1 866 900 2666,, he already had some of my personal info and wanted me to supply him with additional information plus confirm what he had was correct, seems he had aquired my checking account info wanted me to give him my drivers lin info and my mothers maiden name plus a check number so they could deposit a check of 25,000 into my account.
Being suspicious of him I ask him for confirmation of the check number,,, routing number and account number of the check of 25,000 that was to be deposited into my account, he promptly gave me this info, routing number started with 00 which from working in the banking industry I know this was not a correct number. I placed him on hold and contacted my bank they ran the info he had given me and I had been right the info was bogus..
I told the man that I would call him back once I verified the info to continue with the process of claiming my check of 25,000, I disconected the phone call and upon the advice from my bank, went to the branch in my area and closed out my checking account..
Upon arriveing home I attempted to call Mr Jones back but could not get a connection with 18669002666 it has been constantly busy..
FYI for anyone who gets a call of this type * do not give out any of your personal info* contact your bank asap and have your account checked and changed or at least block any debits from comeing through on your account
