Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
Citizens Information Associates, CIA, LLC, Busted! Mugshots are all for profit companies that are allowing the use of their website not to alert the community of criminals, but mostly people engaging in destroying the livelihood, family and surroundings of citizens who may have been extremely provoked, led-into, where badges and uniforms may have been used to use emotional force leading to arrest and booking, of course to only be let out a few hours later.

Yet all too often, the individuals playing with these websites are real players of the criminal world, who have yet to be caught.

It is ridiculous to have someone alert you and tell you that someone is at it again, trying to destroy your name, your work, your family and your surrounding, while we all know for a fact that the persons engaging in this are all uncaught scammers, and criminals.  Their homes are everything except healthy, their livelihoods are not community examples etc...

and then we have the websites allowing this and making good fortune off of these fools.  Companies that are violating civil rights, allowing defamation of character and causing all kinds of financial and personal grief.  Citizens Information Associates, CIA, LLC, Busted! Mugshots you need to stop!!!

You are stating that they are posting true and factual information published at the time arrest pre-trial or conviction. That is not true 100% of the time.

That would 100% mean that there were no typographical errors done by data entry clerks entering data into computers at the time of those events. Also, charges were listed correctly and the severity of the charges, etc etc etc.

Just like credit reports have a way to correct errors these people need to also have someone available to correct ERRORS. But they do not. So peoples future is left at the hands of mugshot companies that will not correct true errors nor make themselves not available to be held accountable.

They hid behind the protection of the press and speech and most do not really seem to care because this slander and defamation is towards people who were arrested or deemed "criminals"

If you post data you should have to post correct data and have a system to remove errors. Not just charge people exorbitant amounts then do not do what you were paid to do OR place the mugshots on the numerous websites owned by the same company, just under different names

The worst thing people can do is pay to remove because they will then know you care and milk more money out of you.

There is a REASON people are stepping in to try to stop this. When is enough, enough?

Bizarre Logic and Reasoning

If kidnappers called the ransom amount the returning person fee would it bedazzle the system again? Reasoning, they had to go through the hassle of kidnapping someone hence they are entitled to the returning person fee (Ransom Money).

If blackmailers called the extortion amount the unpublish/reputation repair fee would it bedazzle the system? Further, if the blackmailers rationalized their acts with the same logic would the system by mystified be them? Reasoning, they had to go through the hassle of stealing government property, identity theft, stalking people, holding people to involuntary servitude, injuring their reputation and collecting an unlawful debt hence they are entitled to the fee (extortion).

I am also a victim of these mugshot websites. The problem I find is that if you are innocent why do they post the mugshots and if guilty, the person will be sentenced to fit the crime. I have no problem with the mugshots from the PD but why all the other mugshots when my name is searched? and then why should I pay  if I was sentenced  with payment, jail time and classes, which runs in the thousands of dollars? I was told to report these sites to www.ic3.gov, the FBI internet complaint center

The operation mugshot sites are likely protected by the First Amendment, since the information contained on the site is public records. Mugshot sites will often charge to unpublish material from their site, and they have the right to do so. While this practice upsets those affected, it is again legal since the sites can make decisions as to which mugshots to include, and which to unpublish. Unpublishing is a major issue in the  publishing world and it doesn't start or end with one site or another (Google "Unpublish" or "Unpublishing"). This is simply the cost of living in the Information Age, when public information is readily available.

I have had enough of being scammed, ripped off, lied to, ignored, etc. by these scam artists and extortionists.  I have read hundreds and hundreds of posts, all saying the same thing about these scumbags.  Yet, I have seen nothing being done.  THEREFORE......

I will be filing a complaint and Motion for Temporary and Permanent Injunction against all these companies, formed to extort, defame and torture innocent until proven guilty people.  In doing so, I will find out who is making the money, who sells the information to the websites, who makes money on each hit, etc.

I am no fool.  I will outfox the fox.  I have no good language for how I feel here, except I will not stand for being defrauded, judged, having things not corrected, etc.  I too have been hurt in every way by these MF's and I HAVE HAD IT.

Anyone who is interested - DO SOMETHING!!!!   Hopefully this can turn into a class action lawsuit and all class action plaintiffs can recover their damages both past and future.  Also we will shut them down and Google connections too, since they are enablers.

Feel free to write to me if you want to be included.  The suit will be filed soon.  Details to follow.

Karma will pay a visit in a most legal way!

Assumption of Innocence and Due Process

#14General Comment

Wed, March 14, 2012

Just because someone was arrested doesn't mean they are guilty. The justice system is based on assumption of innocence and everyone gets due process.
This site posts a picture from an event of a person who may or may not be guilty. They are being punished by having these pictures on the site and be able to found via google. The site knows that. That is why they offer to take it down for a fee. They talk a big game of transparency and how they help solve crimes but they hide who they are and I can't see how posting a picture without someone looking for it would help the police.

This site is all about making money. They don't care about public safety. It makes me sick that someone thinks it is ok to make money by extorting or blackmailing people.

Mugshots.com is an LLC registered in the state of Deleware and has a registered agent to recieve service of process:
https://delecorp.delaware.gov/tin/controller
This is not exortion in a court of law but they are still liable under state civil laws like "use of personal likeness for commercial gain" or "economic damage  by use of personal likeness. The IRS would probably be interested also. They make thier money by "skiming" new information available under freedom of information laws and generating webtraffic to get money from google for advertising on thier site. They may also be persued for unautherized practice of law since the "venders" offer expungment service for like $3000. The relationship between venders and lawyer may be unautherized "feeder agreements" under bar ethics rules so you might even be able to go after the lawyers who do business with these people trying ever so hard to hide the money trail and identity of the man behind the curtain,
NOTE: The "approved venders" from the website can be sued as well (and should be)but also operate in anonymity be not disclosing any company information other than the name of the website. The transactions through paypal are somewhat anonynous at first but you should be able to subpoena the bank and routing information.
There is an attorney in SW Florida who claims represents the owner of the website in some capacity...hi Marc ; )~  : Marc Gary Epstein. Here is his profile from the florida bar website:
http://www.floridabar.org/names.nsf/0/C6C4B9EE28A58C6285256A830073C611?OpenDocument
The domain name is registered to a fake address with a dedicated number that is answered by a woman that claims to sell insurance. Follow up calls will show this is just a ruse.
Prior to reorganizing as Mugshots.com, LLC in Deleware, The website Mugshots.com appears to have been owned owned and operated by Moniker Privacy Services LLC, located 20 SW 27th Avenue, Ste 201, Pompano Beach, Florida 33069.  Phone number 954-984-8444.    Email:  [email protected] (This is according to other internet reports)
The manager of Moniker was listed as:  Domain Systems, Inc., which now appears to be desolved or inactive and they may also do business as SolutionsHome.com, Inc, and HitDomain.com, Inc. (Yes, moniker was sued for displaying underage porn...here are the court documents:
http://blogs.miaminewtimes.com/riptide/2011/04/bieyanka_moore_moniker_privacy_services.php
Hope this helps, go get em. And seriously, the operators of the site probably posted this question themselves. And FYI, they create bogus accounts to post misleading information on the internet. They found a clever way of making money but completely disregard hurting people and try to hide themselves from liability.Public information ceases to be protected when they harm other and use that information for comercial gain.

This needs to be stopped and soon it will be. Sorry that STAR NINE VENTURES is ripping you off and causing you so much grief. Please DO google the appeals (not supreme) court ruling and you will find language like this: The agencys position is  always that mug shots are exempt from disclosure as  a result of an FOIA exception for records compiled for law  enforcement officials purposes. The exception relates  to information whose release could reasonably be anticipated to constitute an unwarranted invasion of private privacy.

Somehow this court didn't have to rewrite the 1st amendment or change the way the US government works as truewrong has suggested would be the only way to stop this exploitation.

Mugshot Propaganda:

1. Free Speech Protection: Are you telling me a jury couldn't be convinced that this is defamation? Your first amendment claims will be laughed out of court.

2. Public Information: Well as mugshot publisher say they are not posting anything that isn't already available, therefore, the value of commericial mugshot publishing is negligible in terms of keeping people informed.

3. Now FOIA: these laws were created to provide transparency on how the government operates... maybe they need a little updating...

Seems like somebody has been busy creating this helpful blog: MUGSHOT SHAKEDOWN

Well I am in disagreeance with the use of my mugshots being on bustedmugshots.com

Actually, yes, my charge was aggravated stalking, but it was dropped. I am currently an exchange student abroad with no access to my records stating THAT my records were expunged as I plead "first offenders" to lesser charges. My case was one of utter stupidity regarding an ex-boyfriend. We were both arrested and the condition of our bonds was that we stay away from the other. Well long story short--we didn't; in GA if you violate this particular bond agreement you are automatically charged with Aggravated Stalking. I do not ever have to tell any job that I apply to that this happened because my records were expunged. Maybe I could be in agreeance with bustedmugshots.com if they didn't charge to have a person's information taken down. Or even if my photos were put up almost instantly. This is not the case. The company saw a means to make a profit and that is that. You are mistaken if you actually believe that I would believe that this company is doing a service to our communities. This is a disservice and I do feel that my rights are being violated and that I am being extorted. I have worked VERY hard to put this all behind me just so that 6+ years later it can all be thrown back in my face. My ex is also on this site, and he is currently serving his country(The U.S.)overseas--The United States Army.

I will take my chances and continue to email busted mugshots.com in the hopes that they will honor their word and take down my information that is currently on their site. I received two(2) confirmation emails(with numbers)stating that they would, only to receive a third and so far final email, that they have denied my claim to have my information taken down. I honestly just think this is entirely immoral, I mean where do we draw the line for privacy rights?

Yes, I understand that someone could go down to the Gwinnett Co. "court of records" and pull the information of my arrest report. Firstly, they'd have to know where to look and that these events even took place. So let THEM go through that effort. BustedMugshots.com is giving information that is not the entire story, and we live in a world based off of (first)impressions and assumptions ie judge now and often choose not to even ask questions later. I don't need to explain how this can be a horrible thing. Instead let me give you an example: the current campaign, state of the economy, etc. We are often enablers for those who wish not to further educate themselves and we take advantage of individuals who do not have the wherewithal to make a change or give "voice" to the injustices made against them.

The fact that I was given the opportunity to plead first offenders says that what happened is none of anyone else's business if I so choose for it not to be their business.

I'm a Black woman living and actively contributing(through work taxes and receiving an education) to a nation...TRYING to make a way for herself in a nation where she is a "double minority"...sites like these do not make it ANY easier.

Stalking? Don't compliment yourself. Harassment? For someone who is actively shaming and extorting the public you sure are sensitive. Revealing scams is what ripoffreport.com is for, if you don't want your feelings hurt then stop charging people to take down their mugshots. I can express my views here- 1st amendment...remember?

The public is concerned that information laws are being exploited. Mugshot websites were created on the premise of shaming individuals not informing them and I have plenty of proof.

"Arrest record is defined as information that a person has been questioned, apprehended, taken into custody or detention, held for investigation, arrested, charged with, indicted or tried for any felony, misdemeanor or other offense by any law enforcement or military authority"

Where in this does it explicity say mugshots are of public concern? Why waste your time trying to shoot down ripoff reports?

Why don't we arrange an interview and a formal introduction?

Truth is an absolute defense to defamation. If what you say is true it then cannot be defamatory. The person was arrested and a booking photograph was taken. Anything else is an assumption.

It is appalling that in this day and age, people can sit in front of their computers searching and seeking information and making these media warehouses reach high profit.  These companies allow outright defamation, they are used as tools by the wrong hands, and they should be seriously regulated.

Getting arrested is no joke, and remember that to every story there are 2 sides.  Citizens Information Associates (CIA, LLC), Busted, Mugshots.com and every other website set up to deliberately have the public engage in this type of defamation, should be seriously regulated.  Funny how these companies turn around and ask for all amounts of money so they can remove your own name from their website.  What a shame...

These sites publish true and factual arrest information, information published at time of arret, pre-trial or conviction. They aren't the originators of the data, the police usually is. The same type of reporting is done by many other established media outlets.
