Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
We've officially joined the list who got swindled by this corrupt company (companies?). We called Rebecca Wild of the State Attorney General's Office at 303-866-5187 and filed a Consumer Complaint Form, as she suggested, after our latest encounter with Claims Specialists Incorporated (CSI)/ K-2 Roofing or whatever they are called at present. I would suggest that everyone else who have been victims of these people do the same. The more of us who speak out the better chance we have of obtaining justice from these people.

We signed a contract with CSI on August 11, 2008 and have neither received the new roof we were promised nor even received a definite installation date. In the past 7 months we have occasionally talked to a myriad of company representatives (Michelle, Gretchen, Deana, Toyann, Melissa and Anna) and only received conflicting excuses when inquiring about the status of our roof installation. Many of these excuses we found out later were outright lies! Most of the time our phone calls were never returned.

We contacted Tom Martino the Troubleshooter and he and his crew were very helpful in providing us with information about these scam artists that we could not seem to get anywhere else. In late January 2009, we asked whether it was possible to get our first insurance check back and were told they would contact us with an answer in a few days. We were never contacted. We contacted them again in February with the same question and were told the same thing, only to be ignored once again. I called their office once again in early March and found the phones disconnected and heard later that they had vacated their office.

Our neighbors down the street are in the same situation as us. They somehow got Melissa King's phone number (720-220-2159) so I called it last week, since I had no other way to contact them. She was agitated that I had gotten her number and didn't mind telling me so. She referred me to Anna (K-2 Roofing's Accounting Manager). Anna wanted to know what my issue with their company was (like she didn't have a clue) and I explained that I was expecting a call back several weeks prior about getting our first insurance check back. She asked if I would rather have a new roof or my money back. I told her that after 7 months I was not convinced they would ever fulfill their part of the contract and that I would rather have my money back.

A few days later we received a check from Claims Specialists International (I thought they we K-2 Roofing now?) for about $200. They kept the rest of our insurcance company's money because in their minds "We did not honor the contract". We have not cashed the check yet, so we do not know if it is even good!

In summary, for 7 months Claims Specialists Incorporated (CSI)/ K-2 Roofing could not fullfill their contractural obligations, they could not give us an honest answer as to why, they never returned phone calls, they were not proactive, they had their phones shut off and vacated their office so nobody could contact them and in the end we, the customers, were the "bad guys" in their opinion! They stole almost $1,000 from our insurance company that we will have to pay back if we are ever to get a roof.

Some honest world we live in, huh?

Cash flow/ credit problem?

This is a reply to the ex-employee, Annon. CSI was collecting the entire insurance check before the jobs were started. How could a decreased credit line from a distributor have caused this kind of problem? If they were paid up front, they could have paid for the materials prior to recieving them - just as their customers did. Is it possible that CSI (Glenn Jessen and Melissa King) was actually spending this money when they shouldn't have been. I ran Mr. Jessen's record. He has mutliple felony convictions. He also has mutiple charges that did not result in convictions. The facts; as I see them, are: A known felon owns a company, collects large sums of money for work that is to be performed, and never does the work. It would be very interesting to look at Mr. Jessen's personal spending patterns during this time that all of the money was being collected. Ms. King said in an interview with Tom Martino that huge bonuses were being paid to employees at this time. Another employee said that they were spending money like they were millionaires, buying new cars, etc. The answer is obvious; they collected the money for the roofs and blew it. It wasn't because of a distributor or anything else. They spent theirr customers' money on themselves.

I am an ex-employee of CSI/K-2 Roofing and would like to apologize to all the homeowners that I gave the run around and all the excuses . The things that I told to you were excuses that were given by Melissa King. As an employee I was just doing my job and what I was told to say by Melissa. As all the calls kept coming in I constantly asked her "what should I tell them" they want answers. Us the employees, were left in the office to deal with the mess that she created, she was hardly around. So please do not be upset with the employees. We were screwed over and lied to as well, not getting paid on time, payroll checks bouncing, or how bout thinking we still have medical coverage and don't, Melisaa and Anna could have at least told us that we no longer had benefits. But no, I had to find out the hard way by going to pick up meds. from the pharmacy thinking that all I had was my co-pay...wrong I no longer had coverage! Thanks

Annon.

#4UPDATE EX-employee responds

As an ex-employee, I understand your frustration and concerns and outrage. As the events have unfolded to hurt people. However, I know that until the economic crisis happened everything was going fine. The crisis caused the shingle suppliers to cut the credit of the company, and called in the markers on the products owed. Which were paid, however, the shingle distributor lessened the amount of product credit by $100K, which caused a tremendous back up of roofs, of which were outsources to another company to finish while the company gave up on its profit to see the roofs put on although they couldnt do it based on the fact the distributors now wanted money upfront to kick start the process again. The lack in the system caused a cash flow problem, which brought the company to its knees and failed. As far as I know the company CSI sold off all of its contracts to a larger roofing company so that people will get their roofs on eventually. However, some are so quick to judge that they no longer want any help. Which is their choice but they did sign a contract to have the company get the money for them from the Insurance company. The contract clearly states a fee for that service if the company does not put on the roof. So people should just be patient and let the new roofing company contact them to get their roof on. My self I lost out because at its peak the company was providing a valuable service and a large referal list of satisified customers still sits on my desk. Take care.
