This company, Bestswimwear.com, also known as Matrix Innovations by Claude Dauman, is a fraud.  I ordered a two-piece "tankini" swimsuit in April, 2009 and paid $143 with Discover Card.  The suit arrived and was lovely; however, I had to exchange the top portion for a different size.

This is when the trouble began. The replacement top never arrived, nor could I get anyone to return my calls or answer my emails.  Eventually, a generic email was sent to customers saying that some items were back-ordered.  I opted to wait for it since I had the matching bottom skirt portion.

More weeks went by, and I again tried to contact the company.  They never communicated with me about this problem after many calls in which I left voicemail messages.  I sent countless emails, but got no replies.

After three months, I finally returned the uselss skirt via USPS, insured and signature required.  I tracked the package online and  discovered that it was "undeliverable'" because there was no one  there to accept and sign for it.  I mailed it to the same address from which it came.  What kind of company is this???  The package has yet to be returned to me despite the fact that I had a return address sticker on it.  Something is very fishy.

I somehow found out that the company was in the process of "moving."  I've never heard of a company that couldn't get mail because they were moving.  Didn't they have a forwarding address?  The old address was on Wilshire Blvd. and the new one is the one I listed on Santa Monica Blvd.  Evidently they couldn't email during this move either as they never answered any of my queries.

This is where I am now.  I have submitted complaints to the Better Business Bureau of Los Angeles, the Federal Trade Commission, the Department of Justice, and several internet sites set up for this purpose, such as Complaintboard.com and this one.  I may have to hire a lawyer even though I really can't afford it.  I am a school teacher and I don't make a lot of money, but it is now the principle of the thing as much as the money. I feel that many people just give up and the company gets to keep the money!

Thank you for your time and help.  I'm sure this company is committing fraud and it needs to be stopped.  I am posting this information anywhere I can to warn people not to do business with this company because it is a scam.
