Club Fitness false advertisement, dishonest enrollment practices Afton Missouri
Club Fitness is the shadiest business I've ever dealt with. Exactly one month after joining, they announced that they are closing the location closest to our home. We decided to cancel as result and learn there's a membership agreement. We were never informed of a contract. When we signed up the location manager didn't share a contract with us. We sat behind a computer screen and signed a small electronic signature taker. We thought we were just authorizing them to charge our credit card.
I had to ask the new manager (old manager was fired) to print off a copy of the membership agreement. The contract states that they will charge $59 dollars if you terminate membership prior to 1 year. Again, we were very surprised to learn there's a contract since they advertise "NO Contract" all over the place, including on their website. We figured they would be reasonable and waive the early termination fee BUT instead their corporate office and management acted as if we're silly for thinking location matters. They insisted we review the contract if we had any further questions.
